Based upon the bullshit being thrown around here, never again. Maybe if I want to know "How much of a lift" or "How big of a tire...". As far as SA's getting paid to look after you? Really? What dealer do you go to?

Sounds like you don't know what you're saying. If you dont know anything about cars, the maintenance behind them and what drives that maintenance then you're just going to always be some guy whos going to listen to what other people say. And what other people say is always going to be conflicting. Just drain and refill your transmission every 60k and you'll never have an issue with your transmission regarding a lack of maintenance.

My character. That's a new low, pal, even for TW. I got sucked-up in the stupidity from people that I thought were on this forum to help out and share advice and experiences with fellow owners. Guess not. Feels like 5th grade all over again.

Wait, you’re the one bitching about people giving you advice, “shitty” advice. Then agree with a post about nasty people. If I remember correctly you also had issues with people in your original post. Go on with somewhere with this mess.

When the 2016s came out there were a lot of people complaining about how the 6spd auto was behaving. One of the issues people noticed was that a lot of the with transmissions were low on fluid because the transmissions were being filled without the cooler being take in consideration on trucks with the tow package. If you're buying a 2018 and expecting Toyota didn't fix this issue that's on you, or not having the tow package to begin with. People are retarded and don't connect the dots or even check when a certain post was made.

In your original thread, you asked if there was a way for the transmission to be checked or was it a sealed unit that couldn't be checked liked the dealer was telling you.
There is a way to check it and that answer was provided. Yes there is a way to check it..... how ever you go about that process is on you, not us.

I drove 1.5 hours and spent 3 hours at the dealership. I paid a lot of hard earned money for that truck and when it hits the magic mileage number and the warranty is up, I don't want to spend another $4K on a transmission simply because it has been low on fluid for thousands of miles. I have had all the TSB's done and I do have some shifting from P to D issues and who better than a dealer to go to when the truck is under warranty? Yes, I do have the tow package.
In fact, I do understand the procedure as it is posted on youtube and the SA was kind enough to allow me in the shop to observe. The case was cool to the touch after 2.5 hours and just a dribble came out when the plug was removed.
Furthermore, I went to that specific dealer as the first dealer told me that the procedure was not able to be performed.
I admit, I got sucked-up by the group think here.

The point here is that the fluid check was a direct result of getting sucked-in to the "I hate my choice of buying a Tacoma" mindset here. My bad for thinking that fellow Tacoma owners could be assholes.

@cwdog driving to a good dealer you trust to get transmission checked gave you peace of mind correct? Ok some SA's said don't waste your money but choosing the route you took accounts for something? Can you Chalk it up to lesson learned? Lotta good people here willing to help out with solid knowledge. Yes some not but why broad brush the whole site? That isn't going to end well.

Turned wrenches for years. Live in a time and a place now where I can't so I rely on others. Just won't rely on the advice from many TW "pals".
