Let me know if you are going! I enjoy it not so much for the off roading but to set up an easy up, and a bbq and watch the mudders smash around, get stuck and break their shit

 

I know the area is full of bros and giant mud trucks but is there any areas where you, I, can get muddy and not get stuck? I'd like to check it out sometime since I have a 4x4... Just gotta fix it lol

 

The mud pit is the mud pit...that's where the bros and there giant trucks all go. The mud pit area is at the far end of the OHV park. But, if you go on a weekday I'm sure you'll have it mostly to yourself

 

I mean I'll happily watch rednecks be rednecks I'm just curious if the entire pit is deep or are there parts I can dick around in? Honestly I like mud better then my shitty clear coat

 

It's basically a small lake, the shore area is where people play in the mud. There's a certain part that's marked where you can't drive past but at that point it'd be too deep anyway. But how deep it is depends on the weather and how much water they pump into it.

Interesting. I'll have to check it out. I feel like for me it would be cool to go there for a bit then continue on to cleghorn. Just need to get the rest of my sliders

 

I'd say it's worth checking out at least once, if only to say you've been to it lol. It seems most people go to set up a lounging area for the day and mess around in the pit, which can be fun in its right I suppose. It's just not a "trail adventure" kind of experience at all.

 

So that water crossing? I'm good on 31s? That's the only discouraging prt

 

Yeah you'll be fine. I crossed the river at the end of the Mojave Rd on 32s when it was up to my hood lol. Before I had my snorkel.

1st gens have a good stock intake design, it pulls air from the very top of the fender and its protected by the fender liners. As long as the water level isn't rising above your fenders you're okay. And at Azusa its maybe at the top of your tires at the most. This time of year it's probably pretty low

Here are a few shots of the open area where Black Mountain and Santa Ysabel split, then on Lusardi. I hope to have a video tonight. And yes, since we had one red, two white, and two blue rigs when we started, we HAD to do the Patriotic Red, White, and Blue setup.

I was thinking of making a weekday event happen, is that possible or is Weekend more Ideal?

Someone should up a google photos account where we can share every trip into the same folder, Photos & Vids!

 

I can do weekdays with advance notice. I usually alternate fridays off or mondays. But if you give me a month notice I can do any day of the week!

Well prob be limited because most guys have weekends off...unless they are retired dudes and F THEM (jealously).


The google account is a great idea. I'm down to just go with a few others on a trip like you mentioned. I'm sure we can corral 3 to 4 of us at minumum.

 

It’ll be difficult to find people who are willing/able to cover that much ground to begin with. Weekdays will just keep the group even more limited.

 

Yes- I'm free weekdays for the next two months. I'm up for exploring but not into tearing shit up so depending on what's the plan I'll keep an eye on this thread...

 

Just a heads up I saw Santiago Peak was open/partially open

going to go investigate sometime this week

 

From what entrance? I went a few months ago from Maple and there was a closed gate maybe half way up. Maybe it's open now
