That's a great looking trail. Hope I get to see it in person soon. The bridge gate being closed makes me sad, though.

A few years ago a set of stairs at work that I climb to get coffee DID convince me to quit smoking. Wife and I have been talking about taking hiking back up recently.

The view at table rock is badass! However recent things have shown me the view at jumping off rock is nearly just as good and 100x easier to get to!

I've only made that hike one time back in 2010 I think.
My buddy Mike just got back from deployment and convinced me to go with him. Great view.
I'd like to try it again since I've had my hip replaced.

Sound like you want something bigger. I can take those 285s and find a place to dispose of them. Think the regs up there make it almost impossible to dispose of tires nowadays. :anonymous:

Ya. I'd still like to sell these 5 with 6k miles on them. 35's is likely the only mod I'd be interested in doing right now.

Not sure what I quoted someone else.
Less than $1000 for sure. All still have nipples and the spare, of course has been in rotation yet, but I'm due for an oil change in the morning and will have them rotate it in.

Wish I could! I'll be down that way, but visiting with the fam for father's day. Tentatively planning another run on the 22nd or 23rd to check out those side roads in crossroads, weather permitting. Anyone's welcome to join!

Seriously thinking about it. What do you think about getting on Horsepasture Rd near Rocky Bottom and exploring that area of Jocasse?

There's not much to explore really. Most all trails were closed except for the main.
The gate was even closed at the loop that goes back out onto the highway that goes out to the fire station/dugs mountain access and hwy 11.

I didn't even venture down to jumping off rock to see if that gate was closed that goes to the lake.

Edit: It was one way in, one way out.

Horsepasture rd is super tame. It's more for just sightseeing anymore. I've seen Honda civics and soccer mom vans up in there.

No way near what it used to be when I moved here in 2001.

Yea when I hit it a few weeks ago I was like this is it... figured maybe the better part was after the gate they had locked down for the season! I’d seen the vids and pics of it all rutted out! Got to the top and saw a bunch of sedans and was like well shit!

Ok I'm in Rock Hill so it will take me ~2.5hrs to get to Chestnut Mtn trailhead. Me and my wife plan on finding a campsite for Saturday night.

I mean....there are some pretty cool views and it's nice to get down to the lake portion.
But other than that, that's pretty much it.

Unfortunately, Chestnut Mountain nor bad creek/mustergrounds offer any kind of views really. Horsepasture river at the bridge is ok and looms like a great spot to camp but with the nights being in the 50's, it's probably going to be full this weekend.

Have you been down it before?
Aside from the camping spot by the river, I think it's limited from what I saw. I mentioned in the above post that with the nites being so cool this past week, it's probably going to be busy.
