If you are running a tire size that is relatively close to stock, then you can just follow the recommendations on the door jamb. If you are running undersized or oversized tires compared to stock, you should definitely find out what pressure you need to run them at.

The chalk test is simply drawing a line across your tire tread then going for a quick run up and down the street. When you get back you take a look at where the chalk has worn off. If there is still chalk on the outside edges of the tire, they are over inflated. If there is chalk on the inside and not much on the outside edges, they are under inflated. You want the chalk line to wear evenly. I find it easier to slightly over inflate and then bring the pressure down as I test.

This can be affected by many variables such as vehicle weight (front and back could be different), tire type, tire ply, etc.

Good example: My last set of tires were 305/70R16 M/T 127P E and I found they ran best at 29psi. I got 47k miles out of them, sold with 5/32 tread left on them.

Great video! It’s amazing how our trucks can take all that beating and still last so long.

And let there be light! My old bed lights finally crapped out after 4 years. Ran new lights and connections. Think I spent a whopping $5 to replace.

Also rearranged my switches to have the USB port completely to the side and subdued my OCD

    20190609_115725.jpg

Then I washed, claybared, polished, and waxed the exterior till it was smooth as glass. Very time consuming project weekend. Glad to finally be finished!

    Bone stock for now...
Yeah it did before. You could literally move the whole steering wheel so that it was knocking when at a standstill and shaking like crazy under braking. Super sketchy at hwy speed... Now they just reinstalled it so that the steering wheel is crooked and they busted some of the grille hardware and a bunch of other crap is off or missing. Not thrilled...
