I made it out for my 1st Mt bike ride of the year, and got to use my new Tacoma to get there. I do have a few road bike rides under my belt, so I wasn't a complete slug on the trail. It felt to be flying thru the trees for a change. IMG_20190608_103918.jpg IMG_20190608_100340.jpg

Back in the day when I used to race, this was an easy way to find the valve stem to refill a slow leak with a C02 (when every second counted). Now it's just a cool look :D

Anyone have a campground recommendation for the Brevard/Dupont area of NC? If possible, I'd prefer a place that would be ideal for RTT's, specifically.

I'll be out there solo on 15-16 June if anyone wants to join. Better yet, I could really use a trail guide if someone knows the trails pretty well and wants to take point. (Skill level: moderate, prefer no big drops).

I’ve still got my old S&M, I can’t get rid of that thing, ever. It’s the last frame they used the “American” bottom bracket on

Thanks. Yeah, it's a keeper! I was up to 13 old BMX bikes at one point, all '77 - '83 stuff. Always looking for more...

Oh, I've known about this one for quite a while. Its in an alley off main street. Just usually has a bunch of tourists around it

Thankfully it is pretty early in the PC summer season, so they were all elsewhere.

Also, I finally got my lesson in non-commitment, rock gardens and clipless pedals today.

Made it out with just a skinned knee thankfully, but that surge of fear as you go to lift your foot and the pedal comes with it as you are falling over was super fun...

Also, managed to narrowly avoid getting got by a danger noodle last night.

My 2 homies in front of me spooked it, and I was gonna get the business.

All wound up and ready to ruin my day:

That’s a big danger noodle... what kind of pedals do you clip in to?

Uh, whatever comes standard on the -Es. I think they are the short shafts. The mallet dh has the long shaft i think.

Add the easy out cleats to the equation, and it makes for a pretty newbie friendly clipless setup.
