    First time setting up a tarp. It was fun and I can tell I am going to enjoy backpacking with it and the bivy I got to deal with high bug pressure and colder temps.

    I agree! but both family farms got sold. large familys that cant get along after the grandparents passed. lowest population county in VA. but no work. people travel over here to the valley,small grazing farms cant hardly make enough to live on there.but it is Beautiful and school still closes on first day of deer season.1st day is Saturday now but still close on Monday

    Ultra light, nice.

    We are lucky here. The desert means few bugs and little rain, so no cover needed. Have to admit I still take a tent, and a pad, and a comfy sleeping bag

    And a truck

    Think I might feel odd going to a pub and ordering a Mr. Wiggles but I'm sure he's a good pup.

    Nice. Honestly most of the places I go are low rain, minimal bugs but they can happen certain times of the year. I definitely use a sleeping pad and other gear but I love backpacking more than any other type of camping, the further away from civilization the better. There are just places you can't get with a vehicle, and those are the places I want to go!

    I used to be an avid backpacker and hiked the Majority of the John Muir trail in Calif . But that was 40 yrs ago but I still used my backpacking gear when I was rock crawling with my Jeep

    I still have a very nice 4 season foil lined Mummy bag , self inflating ground pad and one person Backpack tent

    do you do video streaming? Amazon prime or Tubi app? there's a documentary called "Mile. Mile and a half" about a group who hiked the full John Muir Trail. I've never been but it popped up in my suggested videos so I checked it out. Its worth a watch. I just enjoyed the scenery and living vicariously through the folks making the film. I'm not a backpacker but I admire those who go out for weeks and months on end.....kinda hard to carry the RTT up a mountain pass on my back so.... :notsure:

    Yes I'm on YouTube alot

    Also I've climbed numerous times Mt Ritter and Banner peak which is along the Ritter range and some of the smaller peaks along the Minarets near Thousand island lake and Ediza lake .The John Muir trail passes tight thru this area

    @MTgirl

    Here's an awesome view of the Ritter range , the Minarets and you can see Mt Whitney and alot of the Eastern Sierra Nevada Mtns

    Seeing this video brings back fun memories of ascending and summiting Mt Ritter and Banner peak . If I wasn't in poor health I'd try to Summit Ritter again

    We have a farm in Indiana. My sisters want $$$$$. Dad left it in a trust. I'm admin for now. As soon as I'm gone it gets cashed. If I'm the last one it's mine. 4 generations buried on the property. We cash lease the tillable ground. I can't understand how any of them COULD sell it.

    We have great aunt and uncles farm in Virginia off a kings grant. I’m way down the pecking order but so far family is paying for taxes. Hardly any work up there anyways. I’d have to drive 1-1/2 hours to work.

    Did you stop payment for goods not received? I wouldn’t pay double because incompetent shipping company can’t deliver to the correct address.
