You overland? Maybe you'll need it. You run stuff 24/7, maybe you'll need it. Otherwise, you don't need the fancy stuff. Just stuff that keeps you from killing your starting battery.

I would rather do a permanent mod to maintain my current mods, so removable only works for the period where I'm determining if that's the way I'm going to go. It's tricky. I have to drill in my roof, and unlike snorkels and high clearance rear bumper, this can actually ruin your vehicle.

 

You don't want a leaky roof can cause electrical issues if water runs down behind dashboard

 

Yep, that's why I'm Leary of drilling into my roof.
