I haven’t seen anyone post this exact question just yet, but I apologize if it’s Already been asked.

How do I get the rest of this adhesive off? The fishing line took the emblem off easy, but I can’t seem to get the rest of the adhesive off. I’m using Goo gone but I’ve been at this for 25 minutes and this is all that I’ve gotten. I don’t want to dig too deep and scratch the paint. Does anyone have any ideas?

You using any heat? Getting the adhesive warmed up has always helped me. Grab a hairdryer and get it hot, should soften right up

I just debadged my truck last night, Heat is a necessity! A heat gun or hair dryer will be perfect. I found it best to heat the adhesive until you can see little bubbles and it peels right off without goo gone and then dab the leftover stuff with the goo gone. Where gloves, the body panel can get pretty hot.

Just to add, don't get it too hot or you can remove paint as well. Heat and Goo Gone are the best way to remove the adhesive.

You just heat it up with a heat gun (or a hair dryer, but heat gun is better) until it gets hot enough to where you can barely touch it, and literally rub it off with your fingers. It takes some effort, but if you use something to scrape it you risk scratching the paint, while if you heat it up too much you risk bubbling the paint. Once the bulk of the adhesive is off, just use denatured alcohol or Goo gone if you can't find it, soak it for a minute or two, and wipe it off with a clean rag.

I used a heat gun on low heat and some Goo Gone. Without the heat, it is a PITA to get off. As others have stated, be careful with the heat as you can damage the paint. Do it just enough to soften the adhesive.

I just rubbed it with my finger to get the majority of the adhesive off; it will roll up in a little ball. Follow up with Goo Gone, Turpentine, or WD40 and you will be good to go. I'd wax the area after all the adhesive has been removed.

Plastic Credit Card, WD 40 on a microcoth, and using your fingernail. Nothing gets scratched, WD40 gets the last sticky off. Than spray Glass Plus to clean (has no ammonia) than wax and buff. Been doing this for over 20 years to remove dealer decals, and debadging!
