Ah thanks for all the responses! They really helped! I just ordered my ARB. I love the bulky look and now with my full coverage insurance off. I think it will be worth it. Hopefully it doesn't sag too much. I don't want to max my 5100s at 3' I've had them set at 3 before and I didn't enjoy the ride.

 

Can you elaborate on the trimming for clearance? Possibly have pics? 35's or 37's? I am looking at an ARB and plan to run 35's with it.

 

I think almost all other brands will be lighter than a ARB , they are very bulky , I personally are not a fan of alum with bumpers and skids we see them come in all the time with cracked and broken welds with not even hard abuse on them yet .. and that has been with 3 major brands out there building them ..

 

So long story short, it took awhile to ship my bumper to Italy and I finally got it installed about 2 months ago. I have 5100 bilsteins with coilovers on it, and it's maxed out to 3 inches and I hate the ride. It's so stiff. I took it to an offroad shop here and they said if I lowered it down to 2 inches, with the bumper being so heavy, it will ride pretty much the same... they said the best ride would either, add a winch to add more weight, so it sags down more? or get new suspension... I believe the new suspension part, but he also said I can add more weight just to test it out. What do y'all think?

 

Are you just on stock coils with 5100s cranked all the way up? That would be cause for the rough ride imo. I have the OME nitrochargers and 886 springs, but also full armor, sliders, winch. You may be able to go with 885 or 887. They will pair with your bilsteins for a couple hundred bucks.

Hope that helps, but if you provide more info it I may be able to offer a little more. Also, still pretty new to this so take it with a grain of salt and cross reference with others.

 

I have a 2011 Access Cab that's currently running stock suspension. I plan on installing a bumper and 12k Warn evo 12s. Can I just switch out the coils with 2886 coils to get back to a level decent ride?

youd need a taller shock. The 886s are a taller spring

 

Ah yeah, that helps out alot. Yeah, I'm cranked all the way up with stock coils. I was hoping I can lower it down and a bit and that make the difference but the tech said it would ride the same basically. Yeah I ll take a look at 885 or 887 springs.

 

I am pretty sure you can lower then all the way and run 885 or 887 springs. That should make a hell of a difference and much cheaper than replacing the whole coilovers. The difference if when you crank the 5100 all the way, they preload your coils causing a harsh ride. Good luck and keep us posted

 

That's what I thought too. But the tech said otherwise. He said with the weight of the ARB bumper it would make the front bounce alot.
