Interesting... I might have to try one. Looking at getting the URD y-pipe, AFR gauge, and an oil temp gauge then.

I have an oil pressure gauge and you’d be surprised how much it DOESN’T react the way I expect under different conditions or age of oil.

0W-40 has been my jam for a full year now.

Yeah, I have the one from URD. It doesn’t leak. I’ll be going dual sandwiches soon, have an oil cooler to install.

 

I’ll be hooking up my Greddy sometime this week. I originally got some Mishimoto SS line to go with it but they’re way too thick to route around the car. Would get rubbed through in half a week. Have to go with regular ol rubber hose.

 

Also saw the highest IAT ever so far. 86 ambient resulted in 107 IAT.

I quite going over there after the site went down for a while.

 

After I stupidly damaged my stroker engine, I couldn't pass on an oil pressure gauge any longer. Lol. Mine is the Tanabe VLS oil pressure gauge. Whatever you choose, it is invaluable data.

I also am a fan of the 0w-40. On track days the 30 would get too hot and pressure would drop to low for comfort. That is when the oil cooler came into play with the 40 weight.

I had the slightest memory that URD had one. Easier to track down than the GReddy one.

I took some older rubber hose and cut it to length to fit around the opening of the body, where the hoses passed through. If you need a picture, I can post it up.

Grrr.

 

@Torspd ,do you have a factory hood still? Was looking at some composite cowl hoods for our trucks. Curious why I've never seen one used. Issue with quality? Learned a 2015-17 mustang louvers fit our hoods well.

 

I have the VIS CF hood. Had it for a very long time.

 

Mustang louvers? Any pics?

 

You can see them on Ebay. Talked to a guy with a 2nd gen that also has 3 mustang's. He said the 15-17 louvers fit many hoods well as they are flat. OEM is typically better quality too. And roush makes some.

To make them functional, yes.

 

If the hood was masked off properly a grinder and dremel would be fine... for me. I've been known to cowboy stuff like that. Or drop a grand on an aftermarket one paint matched.

 

Lol I’ve been wanting a reason to cut holes in my good hood. I don’t drive it when it rains anyways.

Yes, otherwise it is just decoration.

I did my own aerocatches, the job was not horribly hard, just sort of tedious and after it was all said and done the paint in the immediate cut area got charred anyways... so, this would be cake to do.

Then I would paint them flat black and put gloss clear over them, rattle can style. I could put my useless painting talents to good use. Speaking of which, I need to paint my aerocatch latches.
