On mine tsb 23 fixed the rumble strip vibration ...my rumble was very noticeable started out occasionally then just about every time you would brake...I never heard the howling before or after tsb...I have had 5 Tacoma’s 2 gen 3’s going back to 2005 neither gen 3 had this howling only 2019 had rear rumble when braking which has 4500 miles on it since tsb 23 performed

Brought in Friday, found that the drums were out of round, what they said on the video. Also told me I had the latest flash so I guess I'll just be dealing with erratic shifting until Toyota updates or can afford OVTune. At least they're fixing the brakes..

12,000 on the Odometer. Switched to 93 Octane. Shifts smooth as butter and shift points are great now. Does not want to shift into 6th gear at 40mph.
Avg 23-25mpg. Throttle is very responsive now and the stuttering has subsided.

I was down to a 1/4 tank Thursday, topped off with 91 and maybe it was placebo but I swear this thing ran better Friday and this weekend!

Had the same problem as your OR on my Pro. I replaced the tires and voila no more problem.

    A few.
Has anyone tried 89 octane. Only have 87/89/93 around my area. Used to have 91 years ago but not now.

    Update as of this morning.

My service guys drove the truck and determined the vibration was from the rear axle/brakes. They then took measurements of the rear brakes, etc. to confirm what was bad. I was told it’ll probably be next week but they’re definitely replacing axle shafts and brakes.

I’ll show the actual work order once I have it.

My service Manager said he’s reporting around 30 customers reporting transmission issues mike mine, but they haven’t found a fix for it yet.

Unfortunately, after replacing both axles to new ones that are within spec, the problem still exists. It feels exactly the same.

The dealer has done 2 attempts to fix this and now says it's normal because their other 2019 TRDORs feel the same.

I will open a case with Toyota soon.

The vibration feeling is completely gone when my motorcycle is in the bed.

I recently purchased a 2019 Tacoma dc 4x4 and I’m thankful for finding this post. I noticed this vibration from day 1 and thought it was strange. After doing some research I found out that I’m not crazy. I’m at the dealership now...patiently waiting.

Mine never did this until I put a 1" block in the rear. Now I get a very slight rumble. Obviously mine is due to the change in angle but I am sure the issue is related all over.

Is this only the Off Road?

It's unlikely to be brakes if so. They still have to check brakes, but it will be nice to know what part, exactly, causes this. A janky suspension component can be a safety concern.

So I just left the dealership. They changed both rear drums and said they fixed it. It is still there. It may be a little less but still present.

I should’ve mentioned the tsb which includes axles. I will have to do so when I return. Not sure if my truck is included though.

It’s really hard to believe that this could possibly be just the new normal for these Tacomas.

Dumb question time: What tire pressures are you running? And are you still on the stock tires?

I ask because I've gotten my truck back from my local dealer after a service and they had 35 PSI in all the tires even though the door jamb placard calls for 30. This could lead to cupping or uneven wear that could feel worse with an empty bed than it does with a loaded bed. When I had my truck fixed under this TSB they said it was the axles that weren't manufactured correctly that causes the rear brakes to wobble and ultimately wear unevenly. The test for this is to gently pull up on the e-brake at 30 to 35 MPH and see if you feel the pulsing.
