Have to say thank you to this. @harley100 drinks are on me if our paths cross.

I followed the wiring for the dealership alarm, saw where they'd cut a purple wire. Removed the shitty connectors and connected those two wires together and the truck fired up immediately.

So, basically, my install was ok.

Maybe I snagged it while was down there maneuvering wires or something and made for a poor connection, but removing the dealership installed alarm did it. Everything looked okay though.

So thank you all for the help.

I was going crazy checking everything in the install knowing it was right, lol.

Glad you figured this out with the help from Harley100. I’m wanting to do this mod and your post had me second guessing it.

Had me second guessing it too.

The worst part is visually everything looked ok. Fuses, function, keys, etc. Multimeter said as much too.

The dealer alarm, the one they deactivate when you buy the vehicle, well those connections looked good too.

Just happy I wasn't going crazy.

I had to have snagged the alarm when snaking wires through or something, but I never thought to check it till that post.

So, crappy wiring job bites someone in the ass again. Funny that I have been discussing this in another thread about how anal I can be about electrical jobs. You literally can’t over do electrical work. Glad you got to the bottom of it OP.

Congrats for figuring it out man!!!

I was really hoping it wasn't the camera system. I plan on getting the same one. Guess I'll be careful pulling the wires through!

Not many people have the means, or know-how to steal a vehicle with a 80-bit encryption. Those add on devices are just a joke. Seems like it’s a big thing for these port companies in the south and what not. Here in the Northeast they don’t add that crap. I would call Toyota Corp and file a complaint. Maybe if enough people started bitching and had problems they would crack down on the port dealers to stop adding this crap

100% agreed about adding this crap. Same type alarm on a honda crv kept triggering in middle of night waking up neighborhood and also locking out the car just like OP. Dealer folks did a hack job on installing alarm. Had them pull it.

Sounds like that was an actual alarm. The shock sensor was probably mounted in a poor location or not properly tuned. Regardless it’s stupid to add aftermarket alarms now a days. This is coming from a guy who installed them for almost 14 years. Almost every car has a built in alarm. Most just don’t have a impact or glass break sensor. 95% percent of cars sold in the US have immobilizers. Most of these now are encrypted at Atleast a 40 but encryption. Most now moved to 80bit and a few 120 bit I believe.

It took ADS, a company that makes immobilizer interface solutions for remote starts, 2 years to crack the Toyota 80 bit codes. That was running a computer 24/7 skimming the codes. It’s more complex than most people think

There is a pass through nipple that is on the passenger side of the vehicle - which was closed and unused on my 18 Sport DCSB. I use this to run any wiring into the cab - just snip the end off to route any wires through. This allows you to stay way clear of any other existing wire or looms and in turn greatly reduces the chances of nicking or damaging them. It also makes it super easy to secure and maintain a water tight seal at the pass through point. Posting this in case it helps someone.

Really? I just bought my truck 3 weeks ago and it has no alarm. Where would I find this purple wire dangling under my hood?

And then the dealership takes it to JoeBobs car radio shop around the corner so they can cut the start wire and throw 2 poorly crimped butt connectors intercepted to a Chinese RF immobilizer.
JUST IN CASE THE THIEF DECRYPTS the 80bit

Should be under the dash, not under the hood.

Like I said, stupid simple fix...just had to find it.
I worked on a truck last week where the blower motor stayed on high
all the time, even when the fan switch was off. If it werent for staying
on in the off position I would have thought resistor block. Long story short,
Kenworth uses grounds on the system. Found 2 wires spliced into the
fan wiring at fan motor. 1 wire wasnt hooked up to anything and the other went to a
panel ground. Being grounded allowed fan to run all the time. Stupid
    simple....lol.

Anyway congrats on getting it fixed

I asked yesterday. Somebody said under the dashboard. I checked this morning but couldn’t find it. If you end up finding the wire, let me know bud. Thanks

Under the dash behind the rear window switch/cargo light switch.

I passed the wires there to cross across to behind the head unit.
