    Here's one for the group:
Got a screw in my rear tire yesterday. 1500 miles on the tire so I'm wondering: since my spoked wheels use tubes, can I internally patch (not plug) the tire and replace the tube and be good to go or should I replace tube and tire? Since the tire isn't actually holding air pressure and is only acting as the outer shell for the tube is there any harm in this? Logic tells me it's fine but maybe I'm missing something.
HD tires are pricey, but I won't sacrifice safety to save a few bucks.

I personally would replace the tire. But I’m curious to see what others say.

Patch or plug and throw a tube in it. I plugged a non tube tire and never had an issue

^this. I had my GSXR tire plugged and it was fine until I had to replace them from being worn out. I know on mountain bike tires you just need to replace the tube, but obviously you should plug the tire as well in this case

Well im pretty sure i have my yz supermoto setup sold. No more racing. Sad day but irealized id rather ride offroad more often than spend so much time traveling.

I do think im going to get a supermoto setup for the 690 though to daily. like this :

I will never forget the day I was in my truck rolling down the interstate and I see a dude on a supermoto. I'm eyeballing his ride and he sees me, I give him a thumbs up and he pops a big ass wheelie. It was funny as hell. Just casually hooning on the interstate.

Oh yeah they are a hoot. I cant do it like that on the current wheel setup, but i think the sm and same gearing will give it enough grunt too. I miss having a supermoto to daily ride. A lot more fun than putting around on 21/18.
