Dobinsons 2016-2023 Taco Suspension Options

Pretty much the same lift height. Sometimes we offer that alternative to produce the same lift height if we are out of one part number.

220 struts are a little longer with a taller coil seat

I got the lift height part, but would there be any difference in ride quality or off-road handling given the different travel lengths?

 

Ok. With the shock having more travel, it helps offset the lift height. The shock won't top out as often with the extra travel, which helps keep the tires on the ground better, thus producing better performance.

 

220 strut with 302 coil. 3leaf aal in rear with OL out.
23” hub to fender all the way around.

Dobinson’s shocks currently with C59-300 coils. Gives me about 1.75” lift up front. Having this corrected next week. Shops replacing them with the 354 coils Monday to give me the 3 inch lift upfront I wanted. 110R left packs with a 1 inch block in the rear gives me 2 inches. Dobinson’s UCA. Set at 4.7-4.9 degree of caster ready for some 285/75/17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers in a few months when funds are allowed.

 

Wouldn’t the 110r leaf pack+1” block give you 3” of lift in the rear?

 

I agree. I just waxed it. I’ll get about 5 days of shine before it starts raining and getting muddy again. Love getting it dirty though

 

It’s only giving me 2. I’m assuming it’s due to the weight of the LB. my installer recommended this one for now u til I get a camper/diamondback cover and a steel HC bumper and add an AAL just so it wasn’t so stiff.

 

@Dobinsons Mike is this the case with the 110r pack? Does the pack yield less lift on the long bed than the short bed trucks? Thanks!

 

For my application so far yes. I do have RCI sliders and a Peragon tonneau which is about 60lbs over the bed. From my understanding Dobinson’s did their testing on Hilux’s since they don’t have Tacoma’s in the rest of the world.

Not that I've seen before, although more weight reduces lift height. I've never seen the 110's not produce 2" of lift, although I think this is the first LB to post photos.

No, Hilux springs are different, these were tested on Tacomas here in Miami.

Those are the numbers that I’m getting after it settled for a week.

 

My fault, I went back and checked my front coils they are C59-350s. These were the coils that were designed for the Hilux. I knew I got that name from somewhere.

As far as the rears go, that’s my assumption too is due to the long bed, it didn’t provide enough lift and the shop installed the block to achieve the lift without using a heavy duty leaf pack.

Right on. What sold me was his point on not having to rebuild the shocks in 30-50k miles. Just drive it til it blows and replace. The UCA are stout and the built in caster is a plus. I don’t know about you but I drive on road 90% of the time for now but I won’t be bombing down roads at 40 mph very often when I am out on the trail. And at the price point of getting it installed for the price of a full fox or king system worked out for me. I can always upgrade if my heart desires.
