I just have a solenoid fill valve for each side. For now 1 switch opens both so I fill unladen or equally weighted but eventually I plan to have them on separate switches for unequal loads.

Yes, the balancing valve will be a constant close during normal driving. When I start articulating the rear more than the bags will typically allow, open the valve and let the air shift.

I think you are overthinking the problem, and building the airbag system into something it was never meant to be. :(

Everyone I know with bags, myself included, runs them individually pressurized and with Daystar cradles. (For overlanding and daily driving use.)

Not trying to get in a pissing contest, just suggesting you think very seriously about how you install these, and what you expect from them.

    Sorry if it sounded defensive.

I have the 70p on a shelf, it has a thread on schader valve. The bags are replacing my Timbrens which grossly limit articulation when we are on a trip. Added the d29xl leaf to my Dakar packs last year but unloaded ride quality was terrible.

Initial install is going be the standard isolated bags. Then a few trips to the north country to see what I want to do from there.

The balance valve is so I can be lazy and fill both bags without having to move the compressor line. Flip a switch watch pressure and done. If I need to shift air between bags for articulation and/or leveling to get flat in a camp site.

My faults lie in reason too much on pirate.

I didn't think you were being defensive, I was concerned you wanted more from the bags than they were designed for. The bags are nice to have, but can only work miracles in their realm. ;)

And, I get the being lazy part.

Actually, though, with your idea, you will be able to fill each bag to the exact same pressure. Not that it is that hard to do with dual fill valves, but your way is easier.

This is true, I could wire the valve to open when compressor is running... or remove failure point and just install a manual ball valve at the back of the truck bridging both fill lines. This would allow isolated fill, combined fill, and/or equalization.

    On edit:

    Brown truck Santa came today!

I bought a compressor off a guy on TW and havent even checked if it works, lol. I have been contemplating how i am going to hook it up, since i have mine set up separately. I am also lazy, so let me know how it goes, lol.

Ordered up the tees and stainless ball valve to make my idea work. Sadly the tees are sold in packs of ten, so I’ll have some extras.

Looks like I’m going to hard mount the 70p in one of the bedside cubbies and run off switched power off the sub panel in the hab.

Should be simple enough to plumb the valve, just use it to make a crossover between the two fill lines. Just need to see how much pressure the compressor can hold back without disconnecting it from the fill line... might need another ball valve.

Compressor won't hold pressure at all, you need a check valve on the end of the braided line.

The same shit everyone else has.
Are the Schrader valves going through the plate the ones that come with the kit? I feel like I tried to do this when I installed mine and they were too short.

Thanks. I’ll have to revisit mine tomorrow. I hate having them tucked up under the bumper.

Some put them by the gas cap, some next to license plate.

    Turns out I’m not crazy.

    upload_2019-6-12_0-15-17.jpg

The license plate frame is too thick so they don’t stick out far enough. I’ll have to find a set of threaded valve stem extensions to make this work.
