Discontinued parts needed 47643-45010 &47644-45010

Hi All,

I am looking for the rear brake star adjuster levers for a 2007 tacoma. Part numbers are 47643-45010 &47644-45010, all websites and dealers I've called say they are discontinued. They also say the 3rd gens are different, but I'm not sure.

I've bought aftermarkets but they are cheap and it shows. The bends are OOT and sit at about 75-80 degrees off TDC instead of the 45-ish that the stock parts are. They are also made of chinesium, so any attempts to bend it to the correct shape just results in pretty rapid fracture. Since I put the aftermarket levers on I've had issues keeping my brakes in adjustment, especially when braking on bumpy trail. Everything is new and OEM except those levers. My theory is that the levers are just hopping off the gear and allowing it to move under brake loads.

Does anyone know where I can get a set of these OEM? I've been searching the local junkyards, but no luck yet.

OP, if you are willing to wait about a week on shipping they are still available from Japan and look to be around $14 for both shipped. PM me if you want details.

This post probably deserves a thread of its own about the number of 2nd gen OEM parts suddenly discontinued and otherwise NLA.

 

Try a more recent year like 15.
Most manufacturers only produce replacement parts for 10 yrs. 07 is over the threshold.

The part may be discontinued for 07 but still available for newer. Part number would have changed a bit, same part.

Lots of experience with this and motorcycles, boats(the worst for this) and cars.

I find parts for my 15 that are listed as not available on one site then available on another.......
Put the numbers into eBay and Amazon......

Just got in touch with them, unfortunately no shipments to the US...

 

Have not needed to look for them yet,

Try looking for brake shoe hardware kits....prolly won’t be OEM, but quality aftermarket will do the job.

 

My best bet is probably going to be to go in to the dealer and compare the parts side by side, they couldn't guarantee the same fitment over the phone.

 

They never will, yet they have the cross reference/ update info on the parts lists.......
Unfortunately most parts people are like Service Writers.....no clue about nothing, just gimme my 12 per hr and make sure to give me all 5 stars on the review......
