Before I put it on Fleabay; anyone here interested in a Rockshox SID XX 100mm fork w/ lockout remote, tapered steerer and 15x100mm thru axle?

Anyone near Pisgah, Dupont, or Warrior Creek in NC willing to act as a trail guide this Saturday afternoon? I just moved to NC, so I don't know a damn soul out there, and I really hate riding new trails solo.

I'm offering dinner and beer at the local establishment of your choice afterwards!

Depending how long you wanna be on the trails, I can guide Warrior Creek, OVT, and Dark Mtn (all in the same stretch of road).

There are very few true women’s bikes on the market. Many brands just change graphics and names, maybe saddle and stem which your LBS should do anyway, and charge more. Not sure about Giant/Liv. I haven’t looked at Trek recently, but when our son bought an aluminum hard tail earlier this year, he got a Timberjack which seemed a much better value than the Specialized equivalent in the same LBS. If you get a Salsa with the adjustable rear dropouts, make sure they’re adjusted and torqued properly. His came loose about ten rides after he bought it, and kicked the wheel over. Since the caliper and rear derailleur hanger attach to the dropout it didn’t cause too much problem.

    too many to list

hey dude, go with the mens roscoe 8. My wife rides the grey mens 2019 roscoe 8 with NX Eagle set up tubeless and she has improved more this summer than all of last year. She is 5'5" and rides the 15.5 frame I belive. She loves the bike. Most womens bikes are just mens bikes that are pink. We did get her a womens saddle though. We just upgraded the fork on it to a fox 34 140mm travel fork and it is legit the bees knees!

so you are 2 inches too tall for a small? that would put you at what, 5'7"? I think you got the right size bike. What did you ride before, the jeffsy is pretty long and low.

I like the reach and got the rest of it put together today. A friend helped me dial it in a bit and he said with my body frame I would have some issues on standover.

Thanks for the info, I'll look into it. I got a pro fit for my 51cm BMC SL02 RoadRacer. I feel like the standover on it is just about to high, as the bottom of the sack just barely tickles the top tube.

I'm just about 5'6" with like a 28-28.5" inseam. I currently ride a 51cm BMC RoadRacer road bike. This is the first MTB in 25 yrs. The last one I had was in '93 and it was a Trek 9100 w/26" wheels. http://www.vintage-trek.com/images/trek/93/Trek93.pdf The YT is a 650b.

    Currently weighing in at 172lbs.

Thanks for your input guys, I got a short road ride in and to me it seems kind go pogo-ey. Buddy set it up for 30% sag. Super stoked for the first trail ride tomorrow. Any further input and help would be greatly appreciated.

Might need to play with the rebound settings if it feels pogo-ey. Ask your buddy to help with that or watch some YouTube videos on how to set up rebound (and compression if your shock/fork have it).

lbs means local bike shop, not pounds. It’s good to support them for their ability to help you when you need it and for everything else they provide.

Just based on those two measurements and the fact that you're on a 51cm road frame, I would have went with a small.

If you're in between sizes, it's usually recommended to go down in size.

Hey man, I am in Fletcher -- about 15 min from NMR / 20 min from Pisgah / 30 from Dupont etc... I am always down to ride, but my wife and I are expecting baby #2 any day now so I can't just yet to commit to a proper ride :(

    Where did you move to?

Broken chains suck. Shout out to everyone that stopped to try and help and to the LA County Fire Captain that held my derailleur forward while I pushed the pin back in.
