I hate when they do that....one year I rode up the highway with a B17 and a B24 over my shoulder. I had goosebumps.

I saw them one time while driving to work on the taxi way. They were getting ready for take off. So badass!

I basically learned to fly from a guy who flew F-86s in Korea. Hell of a nice guy and excellent pilot. We flew canceled bank checks back in the 80s, he gave me my 135 sign off. Also had a couple of Vietnam Huey guys there. I learned a lot from all of them. Oh, and a 135 boom guy (that was one crazy sob).

Never worried about the first one, the second one though... Grandpa had dementia, Dad had dementia, terrible thing to watch. And my memory is not so good anymore. It's just old age though, right?

...^^^... I never worried about burning until an US Army Huey Slick buddy was shot down and he was basically-OK at rescue ... then the rescue Huey took an RPG in a full cell just after lift off and they crashed and he smashed his face and was burned about 50% of his body ... took him a long time to heal too ... later, I was lucky, got banged up a couple of times, but no burns, medevaced back to the US and out on a medical.

Later, in civilian life, I was involved in specialized military and emergency equipment business and we built CFR's (Crash-Fire-Rescue aka Airport Crash Fire-Trucks) and I saw a lot of plane crashes ... some with bad fires.

Got thru RVN and civilian life without catching on fire ... and now I have to beat out dementia I guess.

I have to keep my brain sharp now (no time for dementia) because I recently married a younger Thai lady that I have known for a long time and she has a younger daughter that I am adopting so that will either kill me  or keep me young ... because it's still a long way to get the daughter raised and through college.

MD-80.... in those when Midwest Airlines rode the sky!
Have a set of MD-80 seats from a training program for Midwest Airlines @ Mke.
My wife wants them gone but every kid at a family party can’t wait to buckle in to the seats and have the tray table out.1E709AFC-37BF-4649-B828-FDDDFA08AB16.jpg

Cool stuff in the hanger today. Also taxied past a Ford trimotor headed to the runway. Wish I had got video of it taking off.
