    1) I know this is off topic, but curious, I was thinking of upgrading my front speakers while installing the puddle lights (when I get my mitts on them) and was wondering what would be a reasonable upgrade from my JBL speakers currently in the doors.

@MESO I concur with this statement for the long passenger side cable; an extra 6in - 1ft would be helpful.

I ran the cable behind the pedals, under the carpet, to the driver's kick panel.

I noticed most of us Taco owners upgraded with Kickers CS series

I too would be in for an extra 2 ft or so to extend the cable to run under the carpet. Right now it sits high behind the footwell airbag.

Yeah, the JBL speaker adapters are not the same as the non JBL speakers. I know there are adapters out there though.

I thought it had something to do with digital vs analog.

You might be right. I thought it was the other way but cant remember, it's been a few years since I read the thread about it.

Either way they won't be the direct swap like people using Kickers for the non JBL trucks, not compatible with those speakers.

If you don’t unplug 3 plugs on the driver or 2 on the passenger, I don’t think you’re able to get the boots off, in my case, the boots were taped to the wiring harness and there wasn’t much leeway to squeeze the boots off without unplugging the harnesses.

Speaking of boots. I used a thin pry tool to push from the inside as I used my fingers from the hinge to try and wiggle it out. Was pretty easy.

After getting the boot out and the wire fished thru then putting the boots back in, I realized that I fished the wire thru backwards :frusty::frusty::frusty:

Undid it and fixed it. Wouldn’t ya know it? They work! Thanks @MESO for such a rad addition. Ready for nightfall so I can see these puppies in full glory.

A very easy job. Follow alot of the tips from everyones install and it should be pretty smooth. Also a proper trim removal kit will help tremendously.
