Added rear frame plates the other week when I had a little time. Feels a bit more solid and not as "bouncy" driving down the road with the cap and swingout.

Well early birthday for me. I normally don't ask for anything and just see what happens. Normally either nothing or something I didn't want. This year I asked for stuff that I wouldn't normally spend money on, anything new for the truck.

My wife bought me brand new Weathertech in-channel window visors, I have always hated spraying off the windshield and the drips that come after. These are nice.

My in-laws bought me an HL Extreme 48"

And I took the time to replace the boot on my factory axle that tore a while ago and I also did the boot slide to see if that will add any longevity to these things. Rolling up on 260K here real soon, if the boots keep tearing, I may go to 881s and Dakars out back and ditch the 882s and expos. Just not worth it for the driving I do. May even net me an MPG or two.

Ya'll take care, we are heading to WV this weekend to see some friends and I hope to hit a Fire road or two in route for a little sight seeing. We'll see. (No pun)

Um...I have always considered it, but honestly I would have to really look at making a couple to make it worth it. The place where I get my steel wants you to buy a whole 22-24' stick of whatever you are buying. My bumper is made from either stuff that my brother and I went in on or stuff that was slowly acquired. If I had a larger garage, I would have place to store it and put a couple together. But this is the size joint I workshop out of...

Here are some quick photos from the WVA trip this weekend. Not too much wheeling, or camping for that matter. But the views were incredible and I absolutely love the weather. Little rainy, but it was like 80 degrees with no humidity, which is way different than Richmond's typical for this time of year.

Lotsa curvy roads that this truck wasn't built for but temps never got outta hand crossing the mountains (with O/D turned off!) and got about 18 MPG for the round trip.

Added a RAM mount for the phone to help with some gear adrift and also a 90 degree fitting for the CB mic cord.

Has been a long time since I updated anything more than the mileage. I can't believe I have over 30,000 miles on it already. Replaced the lower control arm bushings with Whiteline bushings and fixed a leaking trans cooler line. Got the truck aligned and a good wheel balance, they had started to feather a bit and now I think I have a tie rod making some noise on the passenger side. Think i will go ahead and swap those and the lower BJ for preventative reasons. Wheeling/camping season is upon us. I have also gotten myself a Tent-cot for the upcoming trips by myself and with the family, I don't think the three of us will fit well in the RTT. I plan to test out the new sleeping quarters this weekend in the yard:)

    Peace and chicken grease.

    Thanks!

We will be heading out again for Memorial day with a group from Richmond and another good friend of mine, hope I can post some photos after.

    Take care.

Added a modified full size, out side the shell ladder rack for carrying the RTT so I don't have to pull the shell and install the bed rack and then the tent. What a bit#h. I will test it with the tent this weekend and see if it works as well as I hope. Once that is done I may try and sell it locally. Anyhow, pics.

Still trying to wrap my head around a deflector for it, but I think I have something figured out.

In process of changing out front wheel bearings for what seems to be the first time at 280+K miles.

Damn, well you did a good job. Got your money's worth out of it, and still came ahead.
