?

Will I end up with a functional 5.7L Tacoma?

  1. Yes. I watched you're video and I have faith in you.

  2. Probably. I mean, you already have a whole Tundra for parts.

    41.1%
  3. Maybe. If you're a Toyota tech and have an engineering degree.

    14.3%
  4. Probably not. If it was possible, other guys would already have it done.

  5. No. You're blowing smoke or you're delusional.

That crossed my mind, but I doubt he’d buy a wrecked tundra just for a few extra youtube subscribers.

I’m betting he’s just busy right now. We all know how projects can be.

Hey guys!!! Sorry for my leave of absence. YouTube disabled comments on my entire channel which basically stopped all traffic coming to it. The channel had just started to take off which was motivating me. But the end of comments destroyed the channel (I learned that the comments have huge impact on each video's success). And that put me into a serious depression which means no motivation. After 3 months of failed attempts to get the comments back, I finally decided to start a new channel and move all the videos. Actually, I started 2 new channels because I thought the Tacoma projects deserve their own channel.

So the Tacundra swap has been on hold. I'm trying to get some people that can help with the labor of the swap since all my time is going into YouTube right now. Hopefully we will have this 5.7 engine out of the Tundra soon! I just loaded up the first 5 videos of the swap on the new channel, so I figured I'd start to let everyone know about it now. Thanks for everyone's interest and help by the way! Subscribe to the new channel and leave some comments on the videos to let me know you're there! New videos coming soon and hopefully the Tacundra swap will be back in progress very soon too. Thanks for all the support from everyone here at Tacoma World!

We'll be working on that soon. It looks like the space between upper control arms is about the same from Tundra to Tacoma by the way... I was worried when I noticed the Tundra arms are actually tucked under the valve covers of the 3UR-FE - And we all know the Tundra is a larger beast. But it looks like the Tacoma has the same spacing between the upper control arms. (approximate measurements because the 4.0 V6 is still in the Tacoma)... I can also tell you from the back of the engine to the front of the radiator fan, the 5.7 V8 is only about 2 inches longer than the 4.0 V6 - Good news for us! For a hot minute I was actually worried about physically fitting the engine into the Tacoma, but now I'm back to worrying about the wiring! LOL Stay tuned!

BTW if anyone is coming to the Carlisle Truck Nationals 2019 - I literally live right outside of the main gate (gate 3) and my dealership is right outside of gate 2. And we most likely will have an after-party for Saturday's events! You can see the Import/ Performance after-party footage here: https://youtu.be/dNhbh_GuGhc I jumped the 05 Tacoma a few times too, so check it out. You'll love it. Unless you're a liberal D-bag. Then you'll hate it and call the cops. :brianr:

That's very encouraging! I wouldn't worry about the wiring, not one bit.
