Hey guys, just move here from Miami, FL. Been here about a month getting things organized.

Im looking for some places that you guys recommend on doing some work on the truck.
    1. Need to replace rear shocks. They're completely shot.
    2. Need to replace leaf springs with something a lot heavier duty.
    3. Need someone for a detailed car was. Cash washes here are pretty expensive im noticing. I used to take it to a hand car was in Miami and it was $20, $25 with tip.
    4. Just a good overall trust worthy mechanic.
    5. Electrician for truck. Lights, slide out fridge and a bunch other stuff.
    6. Looking to change gears.
    7. Also would like someone that can guide me the right direction.

Im sure the actual list is a lot longer but this is an idea.

I want to be able to do a bunch of trails and camping without any headaches. Looking forward to getting to know people out here.

    Thanks in advance.20190608_200039.jpg 20190521_052145.jpg

    Welcome to Colorado.

I have taken my 2003 Land Cruiser to Slee Offroad for a 1.5" OME lift and 100K Maintenance - Great place. For general maintenance I go to Toy Automotive in Ken Caryl area. Will be taking the Taco to toy auto since 2/24 has recently ended.

If you want to do some of the work yourself but don't have space or tools I'd recommend DIY auto repair shops I just did a full suspension overhaul and it was worth the money to me to have access to a lift and tools. It definitely beat crawling around on the ground sliding jack stands and jacks around.

+1 on the electrical, there's nothing fancy about running wires for a fridge and lights. The hardest part is dealing with adding switches to the dash.

If you need rear shocks for a 6" lift I've got some foxes up for sale in the Colorado trading post section.

You are in Aurora? Me too. I prefer my driveway for all truck work. I strongly encourage you to do the suspension work yourself. Its very easy, and very rewarding. PM me if you want help.

On your rig, I'd go with something burly for suspension - you got that thing loaded up! Maybe OME Dakars HD with an added leaf for rear leaf springs and icons/kings/toytech for struts and shocks. I doubt you will want new gears. If you have a 4-low on your truck, you should be fine. If you are planning on creating a serious rock crawler, then some gearing maybe appropriate. Also, head to the vendors page on TW and ask for a quote on the parts you are looking for. I used wheelers off road for my suspension order. Tacoma World folks usually get a discount or at least free shipping. The reps will help you pick the exact parts for your truck and existing mods/mod goals.

For trails, my wife and I use this site https://www.trailsoffroad.com/states/CO. We pick trails with moderate + difficulty in national forests. We often visit Wyoming too (head up 25 north). Dispersed camping is allowed in national forests, so you can set up camp anywhere (be respectful). The moderate difficultly and up gets rid of 90% of the people, allowing you to find some peace and quite. The hard trails here typically require a rear locker, ideally a manual trans, and a willingness to scratch your paint and dent some side panels. I get by without a rear locker on all trails up to the hard ones.
