Well, truth be told bunches of us didn't survive. They're just not here to remind us that modern safety features keep us all alive and with all the body parts God gave us. I swear life was cheaper when I was a kid.

I appreciate it, The crib was my Daughters and my now deceased Mother bought it for her when She was born so my Daughter was not going to use anything else. After my Daughter found out about the recalls She asked me to modify the side lock so that it stays up all the time. We also dropped the mattress 6" lower after the pictures were taken.

Old ones have to be “fixed,” new ones come with cancer warning labels.

    Looks good, and congrats @TomTwo

Thanks man! My Daughter was hell on wheels growing up and She survived. She is LEO. Before She got pregnant She was knocking down doors and serving warrants. Now She is like questioning everything associated with this Baby. Shit cracks me up daily.

Understand the sentiment. Happy you modified it.... but I'm sure your mom would happily say "buy a safer one, than go sentimental, if it protects my grandbaby"

finally was able to remove the ugly 1970s rock from the front of the house and in the process install one of my new windows. Already making a HUGE difference inside with the temp holding.

    Before:

Removed the rock and found about what i expected, minimal insulation and zero wall behind the bricks, barely any chicken wire.

Removed the paper, put new insulation in and then put new paper on, boarded it up and then changed the window and added the trim pieces to match the garage trim. Now i just need to paint it next weekend.

Then on Sunday i went around and removed all the brick from my backyard. For whatever reason the PO had a 4' brick wall 4' from the actual fence/property line. It was stupid and pointless so we tore it down and it really made the backyard feel bigger. 4800lbs of brick

Working on the last room to be remodeled in the house - master bedroom. Yesterday was moving everything out and pulling off the 1960's pine paneling. No surprise, like @LTDSC found, crap insulation.

The worst thing is how they constructed the room with the vaulted ceilings. Neither of those triangular shaped panels (above the big wondow and the door) is insulated. Behind the one above the door is the attic. Only thing that separates the room from the attic is that thin panel, plus it doesn't even run all the way down. When I pulled the wall paneling I found a 1/4" gap between the bottom of the trangle shaped panel and the top of the wall. All that nasty blown in insulation has been getting into the bedroom air. I covered the gap with tape for now just to keep the stuff from falling in until I can permanently fix it. No wonder why it's always very hot or very cold in the room.

New window is on order, drywall guys scheduled for the end of the month and I'm working on getting the wood floor guys scheduled. I've already pulled 2 lines for electrical and will be starting that this week.

That depends if you plan on floating and re-texturing the ceiling or just slapping some paint on it

You didn’t look at the second photo. I’m talking about the kinda fuzzy part the scraper made at the end of some scrapes.

Sorry, it was a little confusing. I'm pretty sure the fuzzies are going to show through the paint. At least that's been my experience.
