Ball joint separator but sometimes they're too small so people use pitman arm pullers.

The only time I use a puller is when the ball joint seats in an alumn or stamped steel arm. Otherwise I just use a hammer & it pops right out.

 

I hate those pickle forks! They almost always fuck up the boot. But I guess if your replacing & don't care about the boot then no matter.

 

What kind of paint are you using?

 

Yeah they are a bitch. But like you said if you are replacing them then why not

Rustoleum 2x paint and primer in one. Stuff dries in like 10 mins, super bombproof. Ive coated my rusty truck undercarriage parts in it 2 years ago and they still look really good.

 

You must be colorblind. Thats ricer red.

 

That explains why Barto painted his SC bright yellow

 

I love the Rustoleum 2x paint, that & their Industrial enamal that comes in the tall rattle cans. The 2x I've used to paint just about everything, from my lathe & mill to my truck's suspension & parts of the frame. When OSH was closing I bought like 15 cans of flat black. I'm an idiot, now I have all this paint that may possibly go bad before I use it all.

I'd kind of like to keep the old ones intact if possible...side they aren't 100% bad I want to keep them as trail spares

 

Its great stuff, and sprays alot better than Krylon which has a similar dry time. The Ind enamel is what we use at work when something doesnt have to be color matched. Stuff takes all day to dry though.

 

I worked a grocery store for a short while. People who dont return their carts have a special place in hell.

 

Krylon used to be good like 20 yrs ago. Now with so many different paint formulas I have come to like Rustoleum so much more. But there are people out the that hate Rustoleum & have had bad experiences.

 

Even if you do tear a boot or one is torn already, you can buy replacement boots. Well not sure about OEM but at any auto parts store.

Speaking of that kid, haven't seen him in here in a while anyway.

 

I used to love Krylon. Then Rustoleum came out with the 2x, far superior to chips and scratches imo. Duplicolor is good too, thats my favorite brand to use at work since we cant get Rustoleum 2x through our distributors.

Same. Yeah Duplicolor is good too but usually expensive & IIRC usually only found at auto parts stores. I just with Rustoleum had better spray tips.
