This is a great variation! If you want to progress it even more, go full Range of Motion, and segmentalize it.

Add in the hip hinge, so let your body drop all the way down, so your head is upside down, then while keeping your entire spine neutral, (and not performing any spinal extension), raise your body back up to the level/horizontal position, pause for a second, then continue up as shown in the video. Then slowly lower yourself back all the way down.

    Guaranteed Hamstring blasting.

Those are wicked for sure. I'm able to makeshift it with my rack, hook my heels under the spotter bar and put my knees on my bench. I'm about as effective as the guy they showed! lol I have to assist with catching/pushing off of the spotter bar on the other side of the rack. Had kinda forgotten about these lately though-thanks for the remind!

Everybody here ? ready for a discussion topic?

When did your love for bodybuilding start? Did you start young after watching wrestling? Did you get rejected by a hottie? Got tired of being picked on? Health issues? What made you start this journey ?

Mine started waaaay early-years before I could actually lift. My uncle used to work out which caught my attention when I was very young, then Good old Arnold started becoming a movie star and getting attention. I read an article about him in the Sunday paper insert (was probably around 12) and it just rekindled the fire. Football gave me the opportunity to start training in a weight room and seeing some older, bigger kids to motivate me to train as hard as I could. As soon as I was able to after that I joined a gym and was buying Muscle and Fitness magazines whenever I had some money. It all just snowballed from there! Been at it for over 30 years now. It's basically always just been a personal drive/desire to be bigger and stronger.

I got into lifting because my dad was a big dude (still kinda is, 67y and can bench 315) so its just always been a sport I’ve been exposed to.

I got more into it after a couple of serious injuries. I refuse to be limited and be one of those people who has this long list of “I can’t do that anymore”.

I do, do it for health. I feel I have to especially careful with my health now because I know its only going to decline from here. Again I refuse to be limited... for as long as I have control over my condition lol.

I’ve never been rejected by a hottie. So no to that one.

Bro that’s awesome. Talk about marathon not a sprint for sure if you’ve been doing it 30 years.

I wish I could’ve been able to enjoy the Arnold era. That dude seems so cool and inspirational
Hahahahaha fuckkk talk about back in the day before all the snowflakes.
Your dad at 67 can bench more than me at 25. That’s just insane. Can’t blame ya tho. I’ve always wondered if working out helps or hurts the joints in the long long run of things.

Mine was good ole Dwayne Johnson AKA The Rock lmao. Watching him on WWF back in the day. Sprained my wrist while benching when I was like 12 cause I wanted to be like him

Mine started when I was 22. I weighed about 115 lbs and ate terrible. Started working with a guy I went to college with, he liked to lift and kept telling me I should start working out with him long story short, worked out with him for for about 2 years, started actually eating and gained about 30 lbs. Now he is married with 3 kids and doesn’t lift anymore but I’m still in it. It’s several things for me but above all it’s therapy the majority of the time.

Overall exercise improves joint strength, but obviously there are always exceptions.

Like running gets a bad rap for hurting your joints, research shows runners have higher bone density and joint strength and thus are less likely to have arthritis.

I think a few aches and pains are better than dying from a heart attack on the couch tho

Am I doing this right? Post workout breakfast for gains?

Egg whites, 99% lean turkey, a couple sweet potato chunks, low fat cheese on a low carb tortilla with the prized pop tarts? Or am I supposed to do one or the other? It was arm day so I’m eating both but knowledge for future would be nice :p

Growing up in the 80's and in Iowa it was He-Man and wrestling. Back then we had no idea how to cut weight so literally wouldn't eat for most of the week, then gorge ourselves after weigh-ins Friday or Saturday. My uncle actually started teaching me about macros how to lift and eat properly early in Highschool. Lots of Eggs and Wheat Germ where consumed during those years.
