Tacos in St. Louis area

Friend of mine is selling his 89 4cyl 5 spd with 140,000 miles. Asking me how much I think it's worth. What should I tell him?

 

Holy shit that thing is clean!

 

I think it has some rust damage on the driver side above the rear fender

 

Looks like it’s in terrible shape. I’ll give him $500

 

It's in immaculate shape compared to most Toyota's that old. The ones I see for sale don't have much of a body left normally

Seriously, If its a Missouri Truck, i’d check out the frame. If he’s looking to sell, I’m looking to buy. Eye test looks good, but us Toyota guys know where the rust is hiding. I’d say a solid Grand.

 

Daily or trail rig?

 

I just asked and he said there is rust on the frame and this year was not included in the recall. Hes recently put in new headers and a Detroit rear locker

 

Take the bed off so I don’t have to look at rust, make it my daily work truck, give my daughter the Taco and save me from buying her one

A huge thanks to @Cav_BluTRD for the help with my suspension upgrades before my road trip... and tell Randy I owe him a sawzall blade.
No before shots, but 1.5” AAL, 1/2” front spacer and 2019 TRD Sport front coilovers and rear shocks. She sits level and rides like new.

 

Blue or Gray vinyl interior for days, 89 may or may not have a/c and power steering
