All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Have you regeared yet? My shit is getting heavy, and when I pull my Offroad trailer, well that shit is just straight up pissing me off. 529s are happening when I get back back from our TW trip.
Thought it was an irritant before, now I almost need a different vehicle to handle this weight.

its hard to say b/c every one/situation is different. I blew up the 4.56s with the 8" rear because of the narrower teeth that was mentioned. There's a bunch of people that have had success with the 5.29s but peace of mind is paramount for me when zipping around baja.

I would absolutely do the 5.29 if I was pulling a trailer and had weight/tires on truck

Often I roll it for weeks at a time and don’t come back to resupply.
Hell, The amount of water I carry is anywhere between 200-250lbs

    Yep

True. The 8.75 is a lot bigger.

it's a cool pic and i'd love to see more. There was definitely a little bit more going on to mine grenading than just the regear but it was a factor. To me the weakness isn't going to manifest in the ring but in the pinion. A work around is to cryo treat the gears, but it's an added cost. All of this may be moot, a lot of people have done great with 4.88s and 5.29s and there's no doubt it puts a little zip in the truck....but then there's always a turbo for that hahaha

You wouldn’t even notice a difference with 4.3’s and the double overdrive. I ordered 4.88’s and I’ll NEVER go bigger than 33’s

Have you regeared yet? If so how is it? I'm getting my 5.29s installed this coming Wednesday in my 2018. Even Toyota said I needed to regear because of the shitty highway shifting. They had their specialist look at it.

I have not yet. Getting back from a trip now. Holy hell it was painful. I think I road at 3k rpms for 6hrs straight. Did I mention I was in FL, flat as F.

About to order them or hell, I may just drive my ass to the best shop that can do it. I don’t trust anyone where I am at in the SE to do this.

Keep me posted bro, I would like to hear your thoughts.
