The snows are crazy. We go to Stuttgart Arkansas and shoot the conservation hunt. Dang thousands and thousands fly in over and over. There is no limit on them.
I tried eating them but didn’t like it. A old friend showed me how to grind and make sausage with them and love that.

 

You can make tasty food out of anything... We need to team up during an apocalypse.

I’d love to hunt the central or Mississippi flyway for snows at least once. It’s tough around here, as they rarely stick to one field for long. They are highly weather dependent as well. Extended cold or deep snow, they move on and don’t stick around, which is best for my work situation. Land is locked up, permission wise, and getting access is tougher each year. Lots of guys are paying for leases for them, and i just can’t bring myself to do it.

A friend and i used to hunt Canadas about every day of the resident season. We turned it all into various product. Sausage, jerky, bologna, pepperoni, etc. all with added pork. I couldn’t eat them otherwise.

It’s not expensive to hunt the snow hunts. Look into online. I am fortunate that I can drive to most places in a few hours.

 

The sand hill cranes are fun and dam good to eat.

I never had the chance. We had some fly over when i lived and worked in CO, but I don’t think they had a season on them at that time in CO.
