Did you notice a difference in the sound afterwards?

What speakers are you getting? Spending. if you dont mind? Is this a plug and play setup? I have struck out twice on the puddles and since i have some time, I would like to upgrade speakers too (realized i would like a little more from my audio system). I dont have any experience with audio or car work other than the few MODS i have done over the last month. Thanks so much

Maybe tire set up is plug and play. You have to modify the brackets some because where the harness goes through presents s challenge. Harness isn’t very long so you have to trim to move it closer for connection. But very easy install.

I got front and rear kickers CS series, I ordered it from Crutchfield and got the mounting brackets and plug n play harness for free ($80 value) all shipped for $137 tax included for California. I dont have any experiences installing audio but seems very easy since it's all plug n play and watch DIY on YouTube.

Me aware you will have to custom mount and drill the brackets they provided you. They do not line up properly.

I went with same system except I ordered speakers through Best Buy on a killer sale (front and rear with 4 year protection for $125 shipped 2 day)

Ordered Metra brackets and harnesses from Amazon. Cost about $25. And then I also added dynamat to each door.

And lastly upgraded tweeters to plug and play Subaru ones. That was actually the most expensive part. $100 for the tweeters alone. But that’s because I chose to order through amazon to get protection plan. Other sites had them for $85-100 but didn’t offer warranty or returns if something was wrong.

My advice, trim and mount speakers before you even dig into the truck panels and what not. That is by far the most time consuming part

Thanks. Couple more questions, was there a noticeable difference? Do you think it was worth it? Thanks again

I haven't received them yet, going to install everything this Saturday. I think they will be a tremendous difference compared to the stock. The magnet size on the kicker is almost triple the size plus. I think you're capable of installing the puddle lights, installing the speakers will be a walk in the park.

    Absolutely worth it

Bass is much more crisp. The stock almost sounds deeper, but don’t be fooled. That is because of the styrofoam built speaker. It insulates well but is muffled. Huge difference. And for under $250 for speakers tweeters warranty and supplies (including beer) it’s well worth it.

Yeah I read the front bracket that you get will need to drill your own hole but the other 3 will line up. Crutchfield included all Metra harness and mounts.

I did it when I did the speakers, perfect time since you have the doors apart

I've never seen glue like what Toyota uses for their door vapor barriers. Shit was nasty.

Yes, definitely notice a difference. Just know running a stock head unit only pushes so much. Running an amp would help a lot but still a great affordable easy upgrade without. Another thing to note, pay attention to your equalizer settings, bass, treble and mids, adjust to your liking (for each source, radio, usb, etc). Last would be how you listen or stream music. Pandora for me doesn’t have a great steam quality. YouTube music sounds better IMO, it’s free, you can make your own playlist and skip ads after 5 seconds. Lots of other streamers of music out there it just an FYI.

I ran the harness just as the PDF suggested but was a couple of feet short so I had to ditch going under the floor carpet. I ended up cutting a hole in the passenger's door lining and not routing it where the factory turn signal harness because I wouldn't have enough harness to complete the connection. :notsure:. Overall, I am greatly pleased with the products that @MESO fabricates; The puddles definitely scorches the bare earth whenever they are illuminated and just glad I was able to snag a set whenever Stu was glitching the matrix.

    A couple feet?!

You didn’t happen to get the driver and passenger sides mixed up did you?

Nah, I’m sure the short harness is for the driver and longer harness is for the passenger, I doubt I would have connected the puddles if I got it backwards. Did you run your long harness under both floor carpet?
