I concur. Perhaps a deeper search is necessary

I'm watching youtube vids on Nikon D3500. I want a decent camera for my Moab trip. I can't spend $700 on the 7200 series. I just need a good beginners game with auto focus
    Hopefully it went well

The Canon Rebel EOS SL2 is the same ballpark as the D3500. It is also $200 more. The Nikon got 2nd place(behind the Rebel SL2) only b/c it only has 1080p video. I only want pics, so a no issue for me. It got the best all-around and user friendly spots.

I want to stay $400 for this purchase. I have no want to become a amateur photographer, just something better than phone pics :D
