Bought myself a 2019 Toyota Tacoma Sr model... notice when engine is running there's a very low ticking noise? is this normal? Of course you can only hear it when you start the car or the car is on idle and there's very little noise! Don't ever recall that on my 2015 taco.

    Just traded a 2.7 for a 3.5

I had the 2.7 for three years.. i am not a mechanic... I’ve learned that all engines make weird noises... I would check oil and keep going...

Your 2.7 is bulletproof... I would not worry that much... but go to the dealer if you feel something is wrong...

    Welcome to the Forum !
The sound you are referring to is the heartbeat of the engine. Perfectly normal. As long as it has a constant beat to it, don't worry.

When you said "ticking" initially I thought it was normal. Every Toyota 4 cyl I've ever heard has a tick, from my dad's 1980 20R to my 2TR.

But then I watched the video. The ticking I know doesn't sound like that.

The ticking from what I understand is the injectors cleaning themselves.
