The Canon Rebel EOS SL2 is the same ballpark as the D3500. It is also $200 more. The Nikon got 2nd place(behind the Rebel SL2) only b/c it only has 1080p video. I only want pics, so a no issue for me. It got the best all-around and user friendly spots.

I want to stay $400 for this purchase. I have no want to become a amateur photographer, just something better than phone pics

I'm pretty sure that's the one I'm gonna go with. I'm willing to take the chance I really like photography and have to upgrade...…….I just don't see that happenin I think that camera will more than suffice.

 

Yeah, I can't really justify upgrading my camera or anything. I don't use it often enough. The only thing I want to do is get a new/fix 18-55mm lens. The one I have/that came with the camera fell off a balcony and fucked it up. It still works, everything is just a bit blurry though. Won't ever really focus anymore.

 

If I can get photos like these, I'll be more than happy.

I have some photo workshop books from Amazon a couple years ago, they have different topics that they cover, but are very indepth and really help out getting the most out of your pictures by understanding how it all works and what to change depending on the results you get to get the results you want.

Try watching 19-2. Jared Keeso's show before Letterkenny. Has him, McMurray and a couple others on there. Really good show but takes a minute to get used to them playing serious roles.
