Every time the Fed starts ratcheting down rates, a recession quickly follows. I, for one, am hoping Powell doesn't do anything bone headed. The economy is fine. Wall St is the only group complaining.

I guess Uber is supposed to have flying taxis by 2023. I wonder how investors feel when they hear things like that

Yup, because I haven’t seen a car fly by yet. It’s a cool company, I’ve used them, but I don’t know how they plan to be profitable if they still aren’t yet.

    anyone here use wealthfront?

2.51 APY for savings, and the investment account is no commission on trades just a 0.25% yearly maintenance charge.

    thoughs?

I'd be curious to hear more - the vibe I get from reading the info is that it's more long term investment driven. 2.5% APY and FDIC is definitely something to look into on top of that!

Here's a basic article on them

they have some kinda algorithm robo investor set up as well.

I'm fairly sure that you can also manually invest on your own.

The 2.51 is the icing on the cake for a savings if it works in a way that easily accessible with maneuvering funds between that savings to a checking.

I'm going to opening a Citi account I talked to them on the phone two days ago.

I'm going to put 15,000 between a checking and savings. Then set up my salary to deposit directly to that account for two consecutive months. After 90 days they will have cleared the 500 and I'll then transfer from that Citi account into a Citi accelerated savings that pays 2.36%.

    15,000 + 2 small deposits is a nice return in 90 days. can't complain.

Also, I will still look into wealthfront, and depending on what products they keep releasing I may switch. who knows.

the account that pays 500 isn't the accelerated savings account, so wait for the 500 to clear and then open the accelerated and move funds then just make sure your direct deposit is set to the new savings account and close the old one.

Also, have you guys ever used the check deposit on your phones, apparently that's a citi feature and that would be nice to not have to go by my credit union every weekend.
