Hood and roof were repainted prior to my ownership, due to failing clearcoat. She came out of NV, hence the condition.
As a base model, it's my understanding that there wouldn't have been any graphics. The rest of the paint is definitely original, and there isn't any ghosting.

I bought the truck with the original steelies and some serious dry rotted tires. Wanted to put a little more rubber under her. Haven't gotten around to modifying the center caps for the front axle.

Original frame doesn't have even a hint of patina. Stickers still in place.
LineX went in about a year ago. Truck wore a cap for most of its life, as evidenced by the rub marks around the top of the bed.
Both of my Tacos have LineX. PO did the one on my 03 out in Arizona, and the installer wasn't half as skilled as the guys who did my 95 in Winchester VA. Honestly, I've never seen a better install. Thick, evenly applied, clean tape lines.

I wouldn't want to mess up this Registry thread with LC stuff. lol

My Toyotas are all very clean. My 03 Taco might be the nicest in existence. Same for one of my 80's. My 100% original 60 laughs at the condition of the restored red 62. I've also got an original 40 FST coming into the fold shortly.

are the original tailgate logo decals still there?
these '95.5 frames are tough as nuts if my local inspection was any indication last month

Yes. Tailgate is original. Some light cracking is present on the stickers, but not too bad.

Frame is amazing. I snapped this quick pic. I wiped the dirt off to the right of the sticker just to show the condition.

Interior wears like iron, too. Wouldn't know that she's approaching 25 years of age.

I didn't know that, i guess the previous owner made the swap , but lately i've been having motor issues like the motor vibrates to the point of making the steering wheel to vibrate too, sometimes the engine won't start, it also shuts down when driving. This last two issues happen very often and no mechanic can find the problem. I supose it has something to do with that.
Not to mention the fact that i can't find the replacement for the rear window.

 anybody know the exact font used in the Tacoma decal logo on the back tailgate?
just want to make sure this pending Line-X stencil job is kosher

I've read most of this thread and found it interesting that there is so much variability in production that first year and many questions remain about apparent inconsistencies.

Regarding mine in posts 612, 615 and 617

She's a base model with A/C, sliding window and stereo with cassette and rear speakers.

Bench seats. 5 speed. Manual hubs. No tach. No trip Odo. No CC. No tilt wheel.

    Produced 02/95.

I was trying to not clutter this thread up, but here it goes...

I recently acquired this 2003 Stepside from a guy in AZ who bought it from a dealer in WA state last year. He was planning to use it as a truck (the horror! lol) but didn't realize the bed was the size of a garden cart until it arrived.

I think a lot of people have seen this one change hands. Well, the merry-go-round stops with me. It's a beautiful truck. Regardless of the hate that some people direct toward the SS, I think the shape and color work perfectly.

    6500 miles. SR5. Truly in as-new condition.

I have all records (which consist of 9 oil changes, and the Monroney sticker). She's going for a total baseline service later this month.

I'm trying to determine if the wheels are as-delivered. The production was 08/03 (which seems kinda crazy in and of itself).

Forgive the clutter. I am installing floor tile in that garage, and the project's scope is sort of overwhelming for one guy.

[I can remove this post if the OP would prefer]

Because I do actually drive this truck a bit, intermittent wipers would be the #1 feature I wish she had. Followed by a trip Odo. The lack of a Tach was a bit troubling for a few weeks, but I just pay attention to the speed/gear and really, it's not like there's much reward for revving the piss outta her, anyway.

I do appreciate the simplicity of this truck. The first week I had her, the PS pump started screaming. Replaced the fluid and cleaned the pot a bit, and she was all better. There aren't too many other comfort features present to give me problems.

FURTHER THOUGHT: I'm totally floored that there are only 40-something 95.5's registered in this thread over the course of four months. I am nearly the 400,000th TW user. There were 100K+ examples manufactured. These are the sorts of numbers which make me really give pause to using this Taco as much as I do. I really hope somebody has one stashed away somewhere.

Thank you. Is there a SS registry thread?

I might start a research thread on the subject of those wheels. I seem to recall seeing MY04's wearing them. I could be totally mistaken. With the late, late production, I was hoping they were original and I wouldn't have to do a deep dive to sort it out. I want to keep this one as original as possible. The Monroney doesn't shed any light on it, either.

EDIT: Yes, she's equipped with the 2.7. Nice motor from what I have experienced the two times I have driven her.

Nice find. I like the step side but only in certain colors, and red is one that looks good.

Not sure offhand but there might be a registry thread. I'm 99% positive those wheels didn't come stock on that truck but look good nonetheless.
