Pretty sure it always comes in last, especially when a new truck comes out.

They said the new Colorado was better,
They said the new Rideline was better,
They said the new Ranger was better,
Now they say the new Gladiator is better.

    The sales speak for themselves.

But competition is always good, hopefully will keep Toyota on its toes.

I don't trust most auto journalists these days with truck reviews. Most of them are city dwelling tech dorks who make occasional trips up to Mammoth on the weekend where they rough it by driving five hundred feet off the highway on a dirt road to get to their luxury cabins. If it makes it that distance while hauling their overpriced Yeti coolers, it must be a great truck.

Too much emphasis on BS like carplay, infotainment, and car-like ride quality, IMHO.

This lol the other day I was watching a truck review and the reviewer talked about how the open tailgate was a good height to use social media on a laptop.

“The Ranger won on payload, fuel economy and price.” At least they admitted the Tacoma looks the best and has the best ground clearance. Then complained that the sitting position sucks because of the ground clearance. They also admitted it has the best build quality. Which is the real shame, even with Toyota build quality possibly declining they still outpace the competition significantly.

Hell yea. Its happened too many times, I have a BBQ and have the guys over. They bring some cheap beer to stick in the cooler and they drink the good stuff I had.
Hell NO, you need to drink what you brought or go home.

Thats one of the problems with these reviews... they're too quantitative. Yeah many trucks beat Tacoma on paper, in certain aspects, but at the end of the day, which truck do YOU personally want to plop your own hard cash down on? Most sensible people would pick the one that is proven dependable, capable, and good looking. Tacoma wins on these points.

That said, I would love to see more competition to keep Toyota on its toes. If Ford, Chevy, and Jeep can improve reliability and build quality to Toyota levels, Toyota would have its work cut out for them.

I’d pay a pretty penny for a Bison level package on a Tacoma. The biggest reason I wouldn’t buy the Bison is GM’s self destructing control modules. Just like Chrysler’s TIPMs that always break but usually not during the warranty period they refuse to cut into margins and make them better.
