5ft bed is not even a bed, it's an open cargo area. 6ft is barely a bed but it is usable. I needed the long bed and double cab but the only thing that made the decision hard was the MT. If only they made the DCLB in MT.

OK, as for color get a white one for the win because it gets better gas mileage.

Yes, but it is the longest bed available in a Tacoma. Since the DCLB had a longer wheelbase, they could make an access cab with a 7-foot bed. But, they don't. . . 20190608_164405.jpg

Or I could park on the street and pay for parking. My coworkers that drive trucks with "real" long beds are outside dealing with the meters.

V -this is a real long bed- V
anything else is just a toy, or so my coworkers, who park on the street, would tell you.

Toy! Toy?! - see what I did there? I kill myself :rofl:I give fuckall what anybody else drives, there just ain't no "best" bed. There is however a best bed for YOU.

This is Toyota’s version of a “long bed” my ‘83 had a 7 foot bed! I agree, the new “long beds” were the old standard/short beds of yesteryear.

Regular bed all day. Ikea couch fits in the 6ft bed with the tailgate up.

6ft+ box all the way. The short box sucks in every way possible. Its like it wants to be a truck, but just comes in a little short. Size does matter. Anyone saying a short box is the way to go is hauling a single cooler and nothing else. You can sleep in a 6ft box, put 8ft and 10ft boards in it no problem, haul a quart of wood, move a friend with a queen sized mattress.... the list goes on. None of this is conveniently possible with a short box. You will have guys/gals show you pictures of all these stupidly elaborate rigs to make a sort box do what 6ft+ box does out of the... box! Whats the point of a short box if you have to put another 10k into it to get the function of a 6ft+ box? If you want a short box, go for a Subaru, its better gas mileage and you have even less parking issues.

The only scenario in which I can justify a short box on a truck is to make a dedicated, single-day, trail rig. Rip off the box and make narrow flatbed to accommodate to 40"+ tires, etc etc.

Long bed all the way. Had a short bed frontier and found it was just not quite enough for bikes and carrying stuff. Love the idea of a PRO but really love the long bed for daily use.

I want to voice a complaint. Why isn't there a long bed trd sport/pro available in a manual? That's what we would all buy, right? And then make a long bed crew cab with a manual to satisfy those of us with families.

Oh hell yeah! I had no idea that was standard on an 83. A 6.5 or 7ft bed is the ideal length for a regular bed.

You, me, and three other nerds here. That's it. Don't you think if a product would sell well, a company, especially a well-run business like Toyota, would produce it? I bet DCSB outsell the DCRB (Regular beds! :D) 10:1. Then factor in manuals making up, what, 7% of sales? A subset of a subset = losing money.

Most people who have families and want bigger beds buy a Tundra.

Awe man, calling my bluff?! Come on, I'm trying to start a movement here. If I say it loud enough, frequently enough, and make enough fake profiles saying the same thing, sooner or later I'm gonna have my way. AND, people will be so brain washed by then, they too will think they want a 6.6ft bed with either an extended cab or double cab in a manual.... and a v8... in a mid sized truck.

Actually, this is a great plan. Lets make as many Facebook and Twitter profiles as possible and get this going! America! (insert flying eagles, roaring bears, and rapidly discharging of firearms against a red, white and blue banner backdrop here).
