Hey guys I'm new to the community I have a 2005 Toyota Tacoma double cab I'm looking to put a 3 inch lift on it but for heavy loads I do a lot of highway driving and off pavement driving. I really don't know anything about suspension so was wondering if you guys could give me some advice about where to look and what to buy?

 

Welcome to tacomaworld! Just do a search my friend. Click the magnifying glass at the top right and type in 3” lift or 2nd gen lift options and you should get an array of threads..Tons of good threads about lift kit suggestions and potential benefits/issues with each suggested height. There are many of us here still researching various suspension options as there are SO many. Generally, people either level their truck or lift it 2-3” all around (depending on your goals and use for your truck). OME, Dobinsons, eibach, king, Fox, Bilstien...list goes on.

 

A year and half and 32,000 miles in on my MRR's and they perform just as great as they did the day i put em on. Leafs are still holding the weight great. And i beat the hell out of these things. Been air born several times giving it to much skinny on rocky hill climbs, and of course railroad tracks. Ride much better than any billy or ome setup ive ever had. And the snorkle has come in handy in some deaper than i though mud holes.

@Dobinsons Mike I planned on going with a 2” lift so I bought your UCA’s. I’m going another rought and just plan on doing an inch lift in the front. Can I still use your UCA’s with just 1”? Or should I sell them. The reason I ask is because they are beefier, but it says that under 1.5” of lift may not work. What do you think?

 

If you decide to not use them I might be interested in snagging them.

 

I’ll keep that in mind. They were just delivered and they are built pretty awesome. I hope I can still use them with only 1” of lift.

 

Yes, shouldn't be a problem for the alignment tech to get it right. You'll have plenty of caster

Installed this kit last night. What did you guys do with the e-brake lines? Each side has 2 bolts/brackets tied to the frame and the leaf springs. After the install, the bracket closer to the cab no longer reaches. But the ones on the leaf springs do. A friend suggested I put some kind of return spring in from the old bracket to the frame to keep the line relatively close to its original location and then the spring will let the line flex. Just curious what you all ran into?

 

New C59-354 springs installed much better lift. Sitting at 2.875 higher than stock height. I’m sure it’ll settle to give that 2.75 inch in a few days. Now waiting for wheels to get delivered and funds for tires.

 

what did you do for the rear?

 

Currently the L59-110 with a one inch block. Will add an add a leaf when I get a camper/bumper

also, what shock did you use in the front? I have been looking at the same spring. Thanks!
