Mine look like absolute garbage on the back of the housing but the projectors haven’t moved in almost three years of use and no water has made its way into the housing so... and yeah, with the rubber boot on the back of the housing I can’t see any of it. Just two wires coming through the boot and plugged into a harness.

Also, I wish I had only paid $800 for mine... but brand new TRD Sport housings with the upgraded glass turn signal lens (that won’t melt from the DTL) cost almost $600 and I paid them for the $350 OEM Lexus projector kit, the $150 HID kit plus labor. So yeah, I paid a nice surcharge but I have OEM quality headlights that have held up over time. I also sold my OEM headlights to make back some of the cost so I guess it wasn’t much more than $800 in the end.

Check out my build. I figured all that shit out. The only mods at a shop have been tires and welding the exhaust. It’s not hard to do.

He wasnt even talking to you lol. See exhibit a: starting the post with "me:" rather than "gmox:".

Everyone in here will gladly save you thousands of dollars by helping you install your own stuff, but not if you come in here trying to pick fights for like, no reason. Reset your shit.

I figure tacofort and myself are the resident 3rd gen experts, but our trucks are built for way different things.

Gmox, when i first got my truck i was intimidated by doing my own wrenching. But 1) its really not hard at all, and between all of us weve experienced most of the gotchas that youll run into, and 2) we actually care about not only our own trucks, but each others trucks, way more than any shop will. Bonus: 3) you get a working understanding of all the components and wont be totally hosed if something breaks.

But Im not a shop, and Im not selling anything. Just sharing my opinion. I cant actually provide you shops Id recommend because nobody around here really specializes in Toyotas besides Specialty in Walton that chris mentioned, and even they are more focused on Land Cruisers than Tacos

No lie. A bunch of strangers from the internet will give you the knowledge and help to DIY. Complete money suck to have a shop do it, they won't warranty their work, highly doubt it. We wouldn't either, but we'd be there to help you fix it ASAP!
