Nice, what did you use for your speedo calibration?

I've asked hypertech a few times and they keep telling me the current product isn't yet ready for 2019 models, so I've been running with a miscalibrated speedo.

I am running the ‘16-‘18 Hypertech. It works for digital and analog speedo and odometer, but for some reason, the cruise control set point display does not update with the Hypertech. For example, I am at 70mph actual, but the cruise setpoint is at 65mph.

Thanks for the info! In that case, I may consider getting it. Surprised Hypertech doesn't have a solution yet. It's June already.

So no 80mph cutout as mentioned in the OVT thread?

I'm in the same boat. I don't have a rack or RTT but steel bumpers, sliders, and skids plus 33" tires at 4500ft and I'm wishing I went with 5.29s. I still drop down to 4th on the freeways around town when there is any grade greater than a 1/2 mile or so. On small rolling hills its constantly bouncing between 5th on the uphill and 6th downhill. Honestly I wish they had something higher than 5.29s.....

Anyone interested in buying a set of 4.88s with less than 5k miles on them!?!? :D

Are you guys fully opening the diffs and cleaning them out after the first 500 miles? Or are you just draining and filling the oil?

Just drain and fill. The magnet catches most of the metal from break-in.

Anyone have in recommendations on where to get this done in the SE.

If not the SE, any recommendations of places to go if I am heading west?

Thanks in advance, and Inappreciate everyone’s input on this costly upgrade.

I have gone too far with my truck build to turn back.

Nitro has been telling people 4.88s for 33s and 5.29s for 35s but in my experience I would say 4.88 for stock and 5.29 for 33+

I would say so as well. Seeing Nitro recently re-geared their white Taco from 4.88 to 5.29, I think that speaks to what @JoeCOVA is talking about. I believe that truck is still on 33’s. Can’t say for sure, but I’ll give Chris up at Just Differentials a shout to confirm.

I’m still undecided on what gears to get.
This morning, I was leaning 4.88, so I went on one of the Tacoma FB groups and asked if any MT guys are running 5.29s.
One guy said, “5.29’s on stock tires here! MT and no heavy armor. I wouldn’t even consider 4.88 if I were you.”
Another guy said he had 4.88s and it was barely noticeable. A few other people commented, but I couldn’t tell if they were just sharing opinions or had experience with either.

Called ECGS this morning to see what their schedule looks like. I have a few weeks to make a decision. I’m actually leaning 5.29s though.
I don’t even know what’s the point of this post, other than “I’m an indecisive sumbitch”.

Had my 5.29s done at ECGS ran stocks for a few months! Made the 35 leap and wouldn’t go back! OVtuned as well for 91 perf/gearlock! I have a set skinnies coming for for the daily driver routine!
