For those of you that are lazy shits like me and don't bother to secure the forward flaps with velcro or snaps:





In other words: secure them. Especially for those of us that spend a lot of time on highways in the high desert.

Edit: I should probably supply some context. It was the continual high winds that caused the damage. To be fair, I've had the topper for 3 years now. Pretty remarkable that the forward flaps have lasted so long.

 

Got my first heavy rain with the topper to test its water proofness last night. Thing was dry as a bone except where the few straps are on the inside. I’ll seam seal that once it dries, but overall I was very impressed with it.

 

I wanted to drive around in Safari mode but was worried it would be like a kite in the wind lol.

 

for those who have them, how's clarity out the back windows? Are there ways to keep it crystal clear?

 

I use straight carnuba auto wax.

 

I just took mine off this last Friday and am planning to sell (I sold the taco without it)

I'm guessing the new owner of the truck didn't want it and it doesn't fit the new truck.

I bought this... lol it doesn't fit ... although i really am considering another one that will fit since I will be bouncing back and forth between storing things in the bed and needing the gooseneck hitch easily available without removing a full topper or tonneau

I got one for my Tundra because of this exact same issue. I needed to quickly be able to hook to 5th wheel.

 

Has anyone tried tinting the back window to help with security?

 

You can buy a replacement window from them that’s tinted. Or a solid rear window that’s just canvas.

 

Are the tinted ones easy to see out of?

 

Hell if I know.
