Nice man got any pics of others? I think my threshold is around 20 ft before it starts to bug me.

I'll look an see. One of them is a kind of grey area gap jump. Not rogue, but not exactly sanctioned.

Sounds like a classic underground DH feature.

Lots of that in SLC and PC. Northern Utah isn't super gnar. That's what Moab and Geezy is for!

Nice man looks like a good time. People always ask what that "clank" is since my rack shifts just slightly enough in the hitch when I drive over stuff.

Thanks man. Romania is proving to be an awesome scene, off the radar awesomeness. Which is exactly what I was hoping for.

    Haha, yeaaah buddy! Oneup!
Make sure you check air pressure off the bat, they usually ship low due to air cargo. Also, if it ever decides not to come all the way up, just unthread the collar and smear some suspension fluid in there. The collar seals get sticky and can keep the post from fully extending.

    @Gunshot-6A knows what’s up.

Ummm... I street? It’s on the way to Bobsled too.
Even the Ogden bikepark. Plenty to keep ya on yer toes, and fodder for pinkbike fails.
Google image search those and plenty of impressive stuff comes up. Also love those two because they are both rider created.

What’s everyone’s favorite set of wheels/hubs, while keeping things within a reasonable price range? $500 total or less is ideal, but a little more isn’t outside the realm of possibilities.

Usage will be traditional/aggressive XC and trail to light all mountain.

I’m dumb to the whole rim width thing. Industry 9/CK would be dreamy, but I’m thinking those options would only be realistic for me if purchased used.

    Open to suggestions and thoughts.

I’ve never ridden them but Ibis makes a pretty wide aluminum wheel at $499. Either 29mm or 34mm internal width. There are also the Stans Arch or Flow wheelsets.

I have a set of I9 hubs laced to Stans Arch MK3 rims and they are my favorite and most talked about set but the hubs are pre-Torch, so I9 no longer makes parts for them. If I had to choose and rebuild them today; I'd probably whittle it down to either DT Swiss hubs or Hope.

Wider rims = wider tire footprint on the same tire dimension. A 29x2.2 tire on an older Stans rim of 19mm might be exactly 2.2" or within a few tenths, whereas the same tire on a MK3 rim will be wider than the 2.2" and spread out the contact patch of the tread to a wider footprint... more traction/grip when leaning into turns. That wider tire though is then limited to your bike's tolerance. I can just barely fit a 2.3" tire into my Yeti's rear triangle with those MK3 rims.

I'd take a look at Stans Mk3 Flow wheels with your choice of hubs. I picked up a set with Hope Pro4 Hubs for $549 (without tires) from Colorado Cyclist. That price included build, tape, valve steams and sealant. Over a year in they've been a hell of a wheel set.

Thanks guys. I have zero skill/ability with regard to wheel building myself. So I'm definitely looking for a turn-key option.

Unless I can find an unheard of deal on some I9 hubs or wheelset, I may have to shoot this guy on PB a message. If I am reading/understanding the ad correctly it looks like DT Swiss 350s or Hope Pro4s completely built with MK3 rims would be in the $550 range.

Yes. This is basically what Colorado Cyclist offers. Wheel builds based on your selection of components. I certainly didn't build my wheels myself :-D. Pricing seems to be inline with other wheel builders I've seen.

I think I misunderstood your post. Didn’t realize you were saying you got a fully built wheelset from CC. I’ll have to look into them as an option as well. Thanks!
