Is it possible for the dealership to flash the truck back to stock? I know the tune isn't detectable, but my truck felt like it went back to stock immediately after the 15k service last week. It seems really strange and I thought I was just crazy, but after 3 days of driving on it, I had enough and flashed the 87 performance tune again. It immediately felt the way I remembered before the 15k service and it feels perfect again after putting a few miles on the tune.

I’m still stock tires and suspension w/ 91 base. Thinking of pulling the tigger on them today. So much positive feed back with Ovtune and regearing that I think it’s worth getting the best drivability possible before doing suspension/tires.

Well, it's been a year since I jumped on board the OVTune train as one of the first dongleless users, still (mostly) enjoying 1.04. Life got busy and I stopped following this thread in August, pretty content with my improved drivability. For the last 6 weeks I've been catching up, reading every post from where I left off last summer. Painful at times, boring at times, but generally entertaining and very informative. Wow, so much has happened! A huge shout out and thank you to Mat, who has remained tirelessly dedicated to making our Tacoma experience better and better. He has remained classy and professional despite being pushed to the limit by a few unhappy customers, but I'm glad to see the overall impression of this tune's development has been so positive.

I've had 16K trouble free miles (12K on the 91 tune), have only ever filled up with 93, but don't want to be the clueless guy who asks "gee, what tune should I load?" Everyone has different needs and God knows, all of our trucks are "unique" (inconsistent as hell from the factory!) But I do welcome any advice or tips while we wait for Mat's next info release. My thoughts are to jump right in to 93Perf as I don't anticipate needing or using GL, and I'm seeking to maximize the fun factor and get the most out of the limits Toyota gave us.

Thoughts? I'm an '18 Pro (04A60), no TSB update, without any real issues (stutter, misfires, etc. that I can detect). Basically, I've been pretty lucky compared to many (or maybe a dumb guy with lower standards!) but it seems moving up to 1.05 is a no-brainer. Any advice is appreciated and I'll likely need a little guidance when I pull out that god-forsaken Windows10 laptop, dust it off, update all necessary OVTune software, drivers, etc. and see if I can remember how to flash! Thanks to all for the thousands of posts that have brought me back!

We had an issue with the hubs for the dyno so we've been set back a few days.

I too was on the 1.04 91 tune. I was fine with it. I also laid off TW for many months. Them I logged in on a whim about a month ago and discovered 1.05 was out. I have since gone to the 91 base tune 1.05. My thoughts are you should upgrade ASAP!

Both 1.05 87 and 91 base are stellar for me. I switch between the two depending on altitude for specific trips.

    <4800ft 91 base
    >4800ft 87 base

Might actually be a bit longer. Sorry guys. Due to the tacoma using a 6 lug and drum brake the adapters have to be specially made. Thanks toyota for this drum brake nonsense.

Adapters would fit perfect if it wasn't drum brake........

Duct tape, zip ties / baling wire, and a bit of JB Weld? Hell yeah! Good for 1,042.1hp/tq.

But, I read on TacomaWorld that drum brakes are the superior option. :stirthepot:
