Falcon Shocks for Tacoma by TeraFlex - new suspension options for 2016+

The 2 lower notches didn’t feel much different to me, I ended up keeping them on the higher setting. The ride seemed firmer on the top notch but I honestly liked it better.

 

Same here, I have had mine on all three settings, I stayed in the middle for now, but I will probably go back to the top setting soon. I also went with the 2" Sport Tow/Haul system, which has a 1.25" lift in back, and 2.5" in front. I think the setup works well, rides better and is level on the top setting with my setup/load. So I will be going back to that.

 

Did either of you do anything out back? Falcon's 1.25" block or add a leaf or anything? If so what sort of difference was there with that?

 

Yes Like I said, I used 2" sport Tow/Haul system. it has the 1.25" block in rear. Love it with stock weight, but now that I have a shell and adding weight to rear, might have to try some AAL's. but for right now it is fine with what I have. spent a lot of time adjusting the ride on the rear to get it where I want it. I ended up in the middle setting pretty much full time. will adjust up if I am loaded down.

 

I did the icon 1.5 inch add a leaf. I don’t like lift blocks. The truck rides good with the leaf pack. It doesn’t bottom out as easy, I was bottoming out the factory leafs and falcons too much and now with the add a leaf it’s not as bad.

 

I was thinking about going the same direction, especially for added load. If I do an AAL, I will take the Block out.

 

Yes if you put the 3 leaf progressive pack on like mine you will want to take the block out for sure.

 

Out of curiosity, what was your load that you were bottoming out with? RTT, overland equip.? What about the terrain when you were bottoming out? Heavy duty off-road and rock stuff or simply rutty roads? Thnx

 

Mostly Offroad, no weight in the bed of the truck. Probably going faster than most people would. Don’t have that problem with the add a leaf as much as the stock leafs, I still bottom out but only when I’m beating on the truck. When I’m loaded or towing and have the shocks set to 2 or 3 in the rear the truck doesn’t bottom out.

 

Same here, but now have a pretty heavy shell, bedliner and gear in back most of the time. so I run set to the 2 position. but I dont think I have ever bottomed out yet. you must be runnin it!! have fun

 

Yesterday I started getting a lot of squeaking from the front. I can't tell exactly where it's coming from, but guessing either the lower mount on the shocks or the rubber around the sway bar. Anyone that's had the issue figure it out? I've probably got about 3-4k miles on it now..

 

It’s most likely coming from the lower shock mount. If you grease the bushing it should stop. Make sure you watch the seals, It’s really easy to add to much grease and push the seal out. When mine started squeaking this solved it. Use some high quality grease and grease it up every few thousand miles.

 

Ok thanks, I'll try that. I didn't figure I'd need to grease them yet though. Will report back if that solves it or not.

 

Greasing didnt help. Thinking I'm going to tear it down next weekend to raise the shock setting anyway. Maybe I'll get it figured out then.

 

Spray some wd40 on the shock seal and bounce it up and down see if that helps.
When I greased my lower bushing I had to drive a few times before it went away just fyi. It takes a little bit for the bushing to get greased.

 

Mine did this, as it turned out, my three top mount bolts were not tight enough, one of them was loose in fact. This happened after about 2500 miles. Exact sound you have, it was the upper bushing that was not tight enough. I torqued them down and the squeak went away. I have had to do it twice now.

It WAS the bottom mount on the shock. Backed the bolt out a little ways and greased it, no more squeaking.

 

Sweet, Mine made the same sound, I was pretty sure that was the issue.
