its commonly used - lots broken glass around and some trash type stuff, which kills me inside.....but for the night the views were awesome. also for us having trees - and snow in may....

The same shit everyone else has.
I only pressurize it while in use. But I can let it sit overnight and it’ll still have pressure in it. Doubt it’s air right though since the cap is only hand tight with some Teflon tape on it.

Both cab and shell racks are Rhino Racks. HD bars on the shell and Euro on the cab. The basket and fairing on the cab is DIY.

As we ticked away the miles, there were two things going through our minds: first - how beautiful it was down here at bottom of the canyon. A bit further north, the sun was now out again, the temperatures were in the 80°F's, and the many-greens-of-spring were all around us. Second - where was this horrible road that we'd been warned - and become so excited - about?!

It's all covered in the full story, complete with photos: Hells Canyon Part 3 - Dug Bar, "Gold Mines," and Horses

That's a KBVoodoo mid-height (10") bed rack (58" long). Don't think they make those particular models anymore, instead going for the 'max modular' racks.

Part 4: The Last Full Day

...It was at that point that we were waylaid by the fishery folks who were back at the tent we'd investigated the night before - there to count how many fish they'd caught in their Archimedes-screw trap during the night. We chatted each other up for a few minutes - us curious about their operation; they curious how we even found this place - before setting off downstream.

Two night trial stay at Mountain Lakes Resort in Lytle Creek. Fun place, but the membership price is outrageous considering the overall condition of the facilities.

Great photos! They remind me of a shot I took of my Mustang when I went camping up at Cherry Springs State Park, where the light pollution is close to zero. I had the car packed to the roof with my camera gear, telescope and all my camping stuff.

Cherry Springs is such a great area, we camped a couple miles west in the state forest 2 weekends ago.

We had a bear walk through camp while we were sitting around the fire drinking beers

I spent my whole life in the woods and this the first time I’ve ever seen a bear.

Craig Mountain Part 1 - Lost!
    May 25, 2019.

An astute reader may recall that we'd headed east a few days before Memorial Day - not just to explore Hells Canyon, but to meet up with Mike @Digiratus, Monte @Blackdawg, and Devin @MissBlackdawg. At least, those were the folks we knew; we were also rendezvousing with @BabyTaco Gage and his wife, and a couple of their friends - long overdue if you ask me.

From our current location at Hells Canyon Dam, it was some 5 hours north to Lewiston, ID, where we'd all planned to meet for lunch, so we were up early - for sunrise if it'd been sunny and we'd been able to see the horizon - to eat a quick breakfast and do our best to dry off the tent from the torrential downpour the night before.

Read the whole story, and see all the pics: Craig Mountain Part 1 - Lost!

It wasn't long - as is typical for us - before we stopped to take in the views. Running along a ridge, we'd already forked off of Corral Creek road - which was gated and locked - and were now following another road that might connect, if only there wasn't a locked gate somewhere along the way. Regardless, the views were some of the best we'd seen from Craig Mountain, a recent wildfire having cleared any tress that would have blocked the horizon.

June 150 degree heat index mtb camping trip at the request of one of my twin girls? Sure, I'm 60ish, I'm down(campin stuff crammed under bed cover all tetrislike)........she had no idea what good ole dad has been doin when goin out to play in the woods these last few decades. She underestimated by long shot and this was intermediate place I said. Poof, mind blown look was oddly amusing. We've done lots of other places like state parks and greenbelt stuff but neither had ever shown interest in mtb as far as doing it. My other daughter has been to a race or 2 to watch when she was younger but that was about it. Anyway.....truck campin pics...private ranch with grass fed beef on hand, trails were usual great stuff.....so hot there weren't even bugs. I must have filtered 10 gallons of water thru my pores in 2 days. Toxin flush, good times, maybe I'm still 40ish?
