    This^

My SPC UCA bushings are the squeak I hear when they articulate. A little spray line on the bushing just enough to get inside a little takes away most of it.

Trucks squeak...it’s just the nature of the beast, especially after dusty roads

Oh this is LOUD. Turning the wheel is immediate squeak. Even a slight uneven patch in pavement will illicit noise.

I’m going to continue to bathe that side in lube for a troubleshoot until absolutely necessary. I want new leads, gears, and stage 2 clutch first. Ahhhh

    Oh bummer.

So far I have been pretty impressed with the shocks. A week ago I rocked the trails up in Idaho with them and was impressed.

I hope you get it sorted out. My 4.88 gears are on the way as well! :fingerscrossed:

Yeah, it’s a bummer. Hopefully it’s not the shock, but I’m fairly certain it is. Like any fight with me girl, I reserve the right to be wrong .. but I’m probably not.

I’m going 5.29s. I’m on 33”, but I’ve got a fair amount of added weight in armor before I even get to loading the bed up, so I’m just gonna go big.

Sounds like you are golden with the gears.

I will never go bigger than 33” skinnies and right now really like the 265/70/17 setup so 4.88’s it was for me. I only have about 300-400 lbs of average additional weight (sliders, bumper, winch, etc). Running 700# coils of course as well

Anyone in the San Diego area need a rebuild HMU. Id like to tear down a set of ADS and see what the hype is about.

I’ve had great dealings with MCM Fab in Vegas. Took just over 2 weeks from ordering them to arriving at his shop. Since I live in Vegas I was able to pick them up directly from him.

FYI the "race" shocks and OEM bolt in's have different seals. I've found a ton of King and ADS parts interchange.

King "Race" or the "Race spec" that ADS claims to build their shocks to?

Word is that ADS is VERY similar to King's product, despite what the groupies claim. I'm just trying to expand my knowledge.

ADS race parts is the same as King prerun, at least on the 2.5 shocks I have seen.

ADS street is it's own urethane seal kit you have to get from ADS.

The hoses and fittings sure seem a lot beefier and more abrasion resistant on ADS than the King bolt-ons from what I’ve seen...not sure that matters?

Are those areas of issue with Kings? All hoses will wear if they rub and are improperly routed. If done correctly, are the selling points of ADS really applicable?

It's all hydraulic fittings/hoses made by the same company just different product lines. I've made plenty of resi hoses from hydraulic hose that has a 3500+ psi burst pressure, WAY overkill for a shock that might see 350psi at full bump for a split second.

Example of a resi hose I made.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...ts-build-thread.261534/page-191#post-20780807

That's what makes it possible to install parts from 1 brand to another, IE Fox resi's on Kings.

That’s why I said if that matters. I’m not pushing to convince anybody. I didn’t go with King because EVERYONE has them and they are a big brand name from Baja and what not. The ugly blue that doesn’t match anything on my truck either. Personally, my other choice would have been the Bilstein 8112’s.

I KNOW my ADS shocks kickass because I’ve put them through hellish washboards, 80mph desert roads, towing and undeveloped mountain terrain. Going on about 8-10k miles on them and it almost feels like that have settled into a sweet spot.

On a small note I have seen braided hoses get punctured from pointed edges...again...not sure that matters

I'm with you. I'm just trying to ask the question. I'm glad you're happy with yours.

I agree with you with the steel braided hoses as they tend to be garbage on a lot of applications, specifically the Fox Performance series but we are discussing a $250 shock that is made for the more budget friendly market. Generally speaking the higher quality shocks alleviate that. Give or take a little (I don't like crimp hoses.)
