No lie, it’s taking some serious adjusting lol especially because now if I wanna go somewhere for lunch, it doesn’t count towards that 8 hours.

Why I eat at my desk while I am working.

So do you get an immediate 30 day paid vacation a year? That's what the service gives you right?

Lol I wish! In the service you earn 2.5 days of leave a month and can hold up to 70. Here I get 80 hours PTO in the first year. Unsure if that’ll go up later on.

Ok, what I thought. 30 a year. But damn, 70! I get 200 hours PTO a year. I can only carry over 200. We can also cash them in.

For the sake of getting more organized while camping, I just bought new totes. I got four 74qt ones and two 41qt ones.

    https://www.containerstore.com/s/black-weathertight-totes/d?productId=11010227&q=weathertight totes

The four large ones will fit perfectly next to my fridge, stacking them two high. The other two smaller ones I'll use for clothes, or whatever, really. What's nice is they're the same size LxW wise as the bigger ones, so they'll stack on top nicely if needed. Will let me be a little more modular while camping rather than have 5 different totes that all kinda sorta fit nicely but not really.

I just received the moog complete LCA in the mail, they look really solid BTW. total was about $210 OTD for both sides. and I was considering putting some white lines in there before installing but I don’t know that it would be worth the trouble.

The SCIF’s I’ve worked in were essentially refrigerator’s. It may have been 90 degrees outside, inside everybody wore jackets. Dressed in shorts, the family jewelry will turn blue and shrivel.

Why do you think they were torturing the contractors?

Go to federal jail. Get on their inmate working program. Then proceed to tell people that you are a government contractor on a ________(insert years given by judge here) year assignment.

They didn’t give the humans, contractor or government employee, much thought, it was all about keeping the server farm & storage happy.

Pulling the moog bushings seemed like a hassle and I didn’t think that front LCA bushings bind as bad as leaf bushings. They always seem to fully droop out even when they’re dry rotted and smoked. I’m probably wrong though

I accrue 6 hrs annual (goes to 7 when I hit my 15 yr mark)and 4 hrs sick leave every pay period. We are allowed to carry over 320 hrs of annual and unlimited sick. If we quit/retire/get fired, they pay out the annual and put the dollar value of sick leave in an HSA. I had almost 700 hrs of sick saved before my kids were born, but I took 8 weeks off for number 1 and 6 weeks off for number 2. So I am down to only about 300 hrs of sick and keep my annual at or slightly over 320 hrs.
