so I emailed the folks at anytime camera with the same question and said "That is just how the switch works currently. There may be a future version that allows you to control the back light, this is what the grey/blue wires will be for."

I asked if its possible to use the grey/blue wires and they said no.

Has anyone actually been successful wiring the switch power to dash lights bc the company doesn't seem to think it's possible

Sorry, was assuming one of the generic taco switches. I’d have to see one of their switches and open it up to see how to do it. It sounds like the led gets power from the same wire as the switch, this is what makes it different and unable to work with dash lights. If the wires are already there it might be possible to alter the printed circuit board to route led power through the blue/grey wires instead.

The video doesn't show a birds eye view. I found a couple on Amazon that looks like they work but they don't come with the side mirror Caps ready made for the Toyota. I'm super interested in this project Having just hit a concrete post In the garage doing $2500 damage:(

Which camera are you using that has the mounting stud to the rear rather than vertical? I'd also like to see a pic of the back side of the grill to see your mounting method.

Just installed my kit today and everything works great. I'm really impressed with how good the video quality is on the front camera. Highly recommend.

    using this camera: https://www.amazon.com/NATIKA-Backu...ronics&sprefix=natika+,electronics,152&sr=1-3

the camera has 3 wires that you can leave or snip. one flips the image for front vs. backup cam, one keeps/removes the grid line, one flips the mounting from vertical vs. horizontal.

this was my first attempt (ended up buying another grill and starting over), but it will give you an idea of what i did. the grill i used has a bit more of the "chicken wire" dremeled out in the front, so the plate sits a little more forward and is a bit more imbedded in the grill.

if i could do it again, i'd make the plate a little bigger and mount it a bit higher up. i was a little concerned about having to take too much material out of the grill, but i don't think it would have mattered considering the amount of epoxy i used to fill in the back of the grill.

Yotaleds.com has some brackets for this grill & the Pro grill to mount LED's that are similar to this. Think I'm gonna contact them to see if I can get just the brackets only to mount a camera. Here's a pic from their site

my first mock up was a similar mount on the face of the grill, but i didn't like how much the camera stuck out.

Yea it's hard to get the position of the camera the way you want it without heavily modifying things. I might use one of the Yotaleds plates with one of these cameras that have the mounting wings. The camera unscrews & just drill out the plate to size & attach. Seems like a plan anyways :notsure:

So I was using the camera that comes with the kit but it only lasted 2 weeks before there was condensation build up https://imgur.com/a/v5O2DwX

Anytimebackupcamera refunded me $19 for the camera. So I'm in the market for and aftermarket camera. On that note I'm also curious where folks have mounted there's with the CBI bumper with front bar? This is my trucks https://imgur.com/a/XoTWEFW and with the camera that comes with it I have it mounted just below the Toyota on the pro grill but bc of the camera angle and the front bar on the bumper I am missing about 20% of the top of the screen which looks outward. I would like to have a camera that looks more out as opposed to down if possible.

Check Amazon, there are plenty to choose from with different mounts, some of which are adjustable.

Edit, I have the same one MrBrooks has pictured above. Using the wing bracket you can bend it up or down.

Not until tomorrow morning I don't. I'm doing a satoshi mod with abs hex grill material so it wil end up being the upper version of the mount in a centered hex that's been filled in with abs but for now it's the lower one set just off center because of the 2nd gen grill has a vert dead center. Still a long ways from installing the new grill, have to learn how to heat bend abs.

    wanna be mods
anyone remove (button entirely) the qi switch?

thinking of putting the anytime switch there as I use BSM and parking switches, especially when pulling a trailer.

Underside of the logo surround and offset to the passenger side for the cable to clear the verticle rib behind the camera. The camera just picks up the bumper across the bottom of the viewing area.

I installed mine over the weekend and for the purpose I want it to serve, it definitely needs modification. I want it to show me my bumper so I can tell how close I am to objects. Does anybody know where I can get the gaskets to angle the camera downwards?
