So my truck decided I needed something else to obsess over and has given me a new puzzle to solve.

I've only heard the noise on three occasions, in Hollister, near lake pilsberry and again in kings canyon. In between those trips there is no sound.

The noise seams to be coming from the transmission or clutch and sounds like a cricket, almost like an old VW bug. It sounds like what I imagine two gear teeth clicking together would sound like but also reminds me of a bad bearing. It matches speed with RPMs and goes away when you disengage the clutch or put it in neutral.

At first I thought it was only when the tranny gets hot after multiple hill climbs, but when I was up in kings canyon the noise would be present first thing in the morning after sitting all night and driving on flat-ish ground.

Does altitude have any effect on tranny fluid?

This shit happens to me all the time:
Driving and see a Tacoma riding above stock height. Think hmmmmm.. lifted taco, let's get a better look, maybe it's one of you TW Dbags. Then I see another mod like raptor lights and get a little more intrigued. BUT then I see the nerf bars, presume it's on blocks and sigh ....

Any of you guys had issue with ARB locker leaking internally? I got my front ARB locker installed from Rearend Specialties in Santa Clara and after couple of uses it spitted out diff fluid through the breather. Took the truck back and had Adam look at it. He said everything looked good, but changed the line just incase it was pinched. Took the truck to Hollister and used the locker and that shiet spitted out the fluid again and compressor wouldn't turn off. Took the truck back to the shop. According to the shop, internal O ring(bondage seal) failed and causing the leak. Any of you guys had similar issue? Did any of you guys contact ARB and got reimbursed for the labor that shop wants to charge for opening up the diff for 3rd time (about $750)? I paid for the first time and the second time, but now its just getting too much.

When I worked at valley offroad in visalia we issues like that, 1 truck specifically we had to rebuild it 2 or 3 times. After calling them, they sent new seals with a special oil and additive. They said the seals and stuff had to be soaked in this mix overnight before installing. Might want to call them to confirm exactly what it was or if that could be the issue. After getting that info from them and rebuilding it the 3rd time we didnt have any more issues

As far as paying for labor, I dont think we had the customer pay for labor for the rebuilds since he wasnt at fault and it was an issue from ARB. Maybe hit them up about the labor fees and see if theres anything they can do since you're not the reason for the failure

Thanks man! I called ARB and looks like they are willing to reimburse for the labor cost it will cost for the 3rd time. They will be sending new bondage seals as well.

Awesome! I'm glad they're willing to help, I know our customer wasnt happy about his truck having to be in the shop for so long over and over. As far as I know, he hasn't had anymore issues with it
