I rented a manual Fiat Punto in Ireland about 6 years ago. I had never seen a lift ring before. I pulled into a parking spot, couldn’t figure out how to shift into reverse, and almost had to have my wife push the car out. I went into a shop and asked somebody. They explained it (I was pretty embarrassed).

i dunno what to say :notsure:
are you a relatively young person?

i am a relatively old person and cannot remember how the set up was in the rental VW Sharan I drove for almost half a year on the Autobahn (almost 22 yrs ago) maybe that is where i last saw/handled a lift ring?

i was awake half the night trying to recall how my HS buddy got his VW into reverse nearly 30yrs ago

All VW's use a push down motion for reverse, from 1950 to today at least.

Haven’t spotted one of those in a while, probably when I worked at a Toyota dealership in 87 or 88. Cool cars but typical Toyota of that time. Rust buckets in states that salt the roads. Try Arizona

The only way to adapt would have the knob sit nearly 1.25" taller, unfortunately. 3/8-16 and M12x1.25 are so close in size that a simple ID/OD threaded bushing solution is not possible (too thin a wall between the two threads).

I can definitely make a new core for one of my hybrid knobs though. Non-hybrids are kinda SOL.

My old Subaru Outback 6MT had a ring you pulled up to get to reverse. I like having to man handle the Tacoma better

Celica GT hatchback. Friend had one, it was yellow. I remember it had a low brake fluid sensor for the master cylinder back then and he said it had all kinds of low fluid warning sensors. His was a 77.

My sister had a 78 Celica, they changed the body style. Ran like a Swiss clock.

    Both were very dependable cars.

i looked up some online images for a '75 and they do not match
but 76 and 77 looked similar, found one for sale (without rear chrome bumper) on autotrader in CT (from CA) with about 53k miles ... call for price!

A while back, I was hoping the Core folks would sell just the base and maybe the bracket at slightly better price while we have a certain somebody mill a shaft that would work with the knobs, if you know what I'm saying . . .

I don't like the Hurst shaft and balls.

unless Core visits my house with a nice cake, a six pack, and a huge apology for being a total dickhead, they will never be a vendor for me. i don't usually hold grudges but holy crap...

Being blind to the particular customer base is a massive head scratcher. I like what I am hearing from those that installed it, but I am also struggling to find fault with the stock setup, esp at the given cost. URD's price is acceptable, IMHO, but I am still sort of wondering about their kit.

Add to the MT stuff, I was in the worst of our commute traffic twice this week and just appreciated the shit out the Taco, @OVTune , and the ADM.

This area should be embarrassed by both the traffic situation and the tent cities lining the highways.

I was 24 at the time; I was familiar with Ford, Nissan, and Toyota manuals.
