This Weekend

Anyone thinking of going to Coral Canyon or Occotillo Wells this weekend?

 

I think Randy wants to trail , I'd love to go but my tires & CV boots are shit right now, hopefully I'll get done with boots in morning & then maybe I'll head that way.... but ya never know....

 

Thinking? Yes, I am always thinking of going four wheeling!
Doing? Maybe... perhaps a Sunday run? Never been to Coral Canyon... Ocotillo Wells is a blast, but would be a blast furnace this weekend...

 

True Ocotillo would probably be hot as Hades. Coral Canyon is closer too. Im leaning towards CC. Not sure what day though. Sunday might work, just depends on what day family is visiting. Im on a 4 day weekend.

 

You should go to Corral Canyon David if you've never gone, the TDS loop is always fun & challenging, but don't forget theres 3 or 4 trails there that are single black diamond rated & 2 that are Double black diamond, (Bronco Peak connector & another one that is brand new ) meaning extreme difficulty / body damage is most likely going to happen/ only highly modified vehicles with high ground clearance should attempt & don't let the lure of doing a difficult trail get ya, if you start down (or up ) the connector & the other new trail, your committed, can't turn back but I know you're smarter than that......

 

If there is an online map of the trails, that would be great...

As for body damage... that is already a non-issue with my 2010, after the rock that banged the underside and grabbed my bumper in Baja, going to Mision Santa Maria!

 

Lol, niiiiiice work David, it went from a bumper to a Ice cream scoop , well then "go forth & damage my son" j/k If you stop in Alpine at the rangers station they probably have an OHV map covering Corral canyon that they give away free, has all the listed trails & trail ratings & park regulations, etc;

Probably not. I waited all day yesterday to find out that the family is coming over today. Needless to say Im a little pissed. I really wanted to get out this weekend.

Whats the exit to get out there to CC off the 8? Im still gonna try to squeek out there.

Damn. I would have hit you up Matt if I knew that you wanted to go. I went out and did the TDS loop yesterday. That trail is a bit tougher than it was back in January when we all went. Got a lot of new pinstripes too!
